First I would just like to say a huge thank you to Kevin roads for going above and beyond for me today at margins VW Basingstoke. I had a car on order through motability that I did not think suited my needs and the waiting time was quite long. Kevin was patient, he was quick with the process and soon got us out on a test drive! While we was out on the test drive Kevin amazingly found a car we wanted on port and said it will be available to collect this mouth! I was amazed by Kevin’s service and we hope to receive the same when we next see him this mouth to collect the car. Once again thank you for helping us! Thanks, Charlie
Please don't remove my post without replying to it! Please avoid this dealer at all cost, shocking customer service, actually no service especially if you're dealing with Luke Atkinson. This is the van side, not the car side, so can't comment about that side of the business. Had a front assist fault come up on the dash, put it in and they diagnosed a faulty brake sensor, well that's what Luke told me and he said he would be in touch as he had to order one in. A few weeks went past and the fault was now flashing constantly coming up on the dash. Called Luke and asked if the brake sensor had been ordered but it had not, and he suggested that I bring it in again and have it diagnosed again, so it went in. Called Luke up to see how it was going and he said that it was now the paint on my front grill causing the problem. Told him that it was just a black plastic grill and no paint which if he actually knew anything about vans or even looked at my van, he would have seen that it was not painted. After I had told him this, he then said oh yes it's also your wheels as well..... really Luke? He then went on saying that they get this problem in all of the time and they don't know what the fault is and can't fix it. Never said that when I first bought the van in. So not a faulty brake sensor! Well Luke, tell your technicians to plug my van in and see what fault they get, because clearly no one looked at my van, probably because it is still under warranty. Being a main dealer, I would like to know how you can't fix one of your vehicles and an independent VW specialist found the fault within two hours, faulty radar. I really hope people do read this and think twice before they are also lied to. I will never go back. One star is far too much for these cowboys.
I had issues with an airbag fault this was the second attempt to fix it. No issues with Martins great service as usual, i had a loaner for the entire time it was in the workshops which was appreciated. Would love an ID4 next time if there is a next time it might tempt the wife to trade up. But VW should really get their act together it took 2 weeks to even source the part just a simple wiring loom and a known fault at that. Dealers often get the blame, but Martins have been great with me.
Service staff were excellent and kept me informed of progress with my car which needed parts ordered and complex repairs, including reseal of windscreen by external company. When I finally collected my car after a month, the windscreen had been left filthy, with smears and water marks all over it, externally and internally. Martins staff were great, but my moan is with the external company who worked on the windscreen reseal and left it filthy.
I ordered the Vw transporter sport line through John Hill and I couldn’t be happier with the service he and his team had provided, I had to wait for a while to receive my order but John kept me informed of the process and finally delivered me a beautiful van just before Christmas. Thank you John and Vw van Center team.
Martins completed the VW 93P7 campaign and replaced one of our ID.3's battery modules which had tested defective. Martins were very efficient and most professional throughout. Furthermore, we were reassured as Martins had already done the same work on plenty of other vehicles so had plenty of experience with the process. The car was expected, the work was completed well within the expected time and I was kept fully informed. Though a complimentary vehicle was not needed, I was both dropped back after taking the vehicle in and subsequently collected when the vehicle was ready by Mark, the Martins driver, who made the whole process even easier. Thank you Martins.
I had a diagnostic here and there was a mismatch between what was said on the phone when booking and what was invoiced on the day. VW does fixed priced diagnostics so I called up to book and explained the couple of issues I was having. I was told on the phone that under a fixed priced diagnostic they would take an initial hour which is what the £115 is for and then if they need more time they will call. But I arrived on the day and the invoice was for two fixed price diagnostics totalling £230. One diagnostic charge per issue. This isn't how it was explained when booking so watch out. I also think setting up the booking to essentially require the customer to pay for 2 hours when it may very reasonably take less you won't know until the tech actually looks into it is disingenuous. My two issues were fault code related and honestly I have no doubt it did not take the full two hours they charged me. They also wanted £279 on the final report to investigate a static fault code they found... Why not the £115 fixed fee? Also, I asked for all of the paperwork but did not get the tech's notes which were right in front of the service advisor. The cynic in me thinks that's because the notes probably have jotted down the things they diagnosed but would like the customer to pay for through further diagnostic fees. Overall disappointing.
The pricing at this service center feels unfair. Despite undergoing two M.O.Ts, two services, a total brake replacement, and other repairs, the brakes, covered by warranty, cost us around or over £700 and developed an issue straight after. We don't want to go back as our trust in their service has diminished. Our car seems to experience problems just after each visit, such as a broken bonnet cable and heating issues. I understand that it could be a coincidence, not their fault, but the breaking point was a £100 charge for a light bulb change, justified by the need to remove the bumper, resulting in a failed MOT. We had to come back the next day as the light bulb wasn’t in stock. Resolving the same issue at Halfords again after 4 months cost only £21.99, without the need to remove the bumper. To contrast the invoices, here are the details from both Halfords and the VW service for the respective jobs.
Very impressive service from Victor, very attentive service from start to finish, I genuinely felt my car was in great hands, they even cleaned it from just doing an MOT. Loved the personal hand over and bringing my car round from the car park. Highly recommend!
I highly recommend Martins VW their service and courtesy are second to none. The staff are always on hand to answer any question and resolve my issues efficiently and speedily. I particularly like the Health Check service they offer with supporting video to show you the exact nature of their findings. Great staff
