We "just" went with a group for a Christmas lunch 2 weeks before Christmas. On the coldest day of the winter so far, they had the conservatory and corridors nice and warm. The rest of the hotel and the main dining room was quiet. Service was very good after they managed to get the bar up and running. The meal was normal Christmas fare, hot and reasonable value. No complaints from us.
We were invited to a friends wedding and, rather than one of us staying sober for a 60 mile drive home straight after, we opted to treat ourselves to a room for the night. The staff were friendly and welcoming on arrival and this continued throughout the afternoon/evening and into the next day. They certainly put some long shifts in yet remained cheerful and attentive at all times. As a wedding venue I don't think I could fault Marshall Meadows, a lovely house and grounds which wee well maintained. Staff were great throughout the celebrations. It was a pleasure to watch the almost choreographed table service during the wedding breakfast. Food was well presented and beautifully cooked. Drinks are never going to be cheap at a typical country house hotel but at least they didn't break the bank as in some venues I've been to. Our room was, like the public spaces, well presented and spotlessly clean. My only criticism is one which is shared with just about every other place I've stayed during the winter - the heat in the room. Guests naturally expect to walk into a warm room but I find that everywhere I've stayed seems to go overboard. The radiators were fitted with thermostatic valves which were easy to adjust so it would make sense to me to have them set to a more comfortable level and if guest really do feel the cold it's easy for them to tun the heat up to furnace level, it probably costs a fortune to heat an empty room to beyond what I would term cosy. In addition to that I had to find something to prop the sash window open as it just kept creeping shut - we both like a bedroom to have some ventilation, it's healthier that way. The friendly service continued into breakfast which started with a continental buffet followed by a delicious full English - there were other lighter cooked options too. I can't really fault this hotel and would happily stay again if the need arose.
Our daughter and son in law paid for us to stay for 2 nights at Marshall Meadows as a 45th wedding anniversary present.....and what a treat it was. The room, no. 9,was immaculate and faced over the garden. The bed was so comfortable. All of the staff were so pleasant and friendly. We didn't dine there in the evenings but the breakfasts were something else..plenty of choice and big portions. We would certainly go back and would recommend to our friends. Thank you for a lovely stay.
We visited the hotel for lunch on a long journey, and I can only rate it in this context. The lunch was very good, with excellent service, and we left feeling rested and de-stressed. The hotel and its grounds seem lovingly cared for; it is beautiful and welcoming. It is a few minutes off the main road, but the turnoff can easily be missed. I am looking forward to a return visit, for a proper stay.
What a lovely stay. The staff were amazing, with nothing too much trouble. Very dog friendly and even ensured our dogs could go to meals with us. The quality was outstanding both accommodation and food Rooms: Very good quality with high end toiletries provided. Bed very comfy Food & drinks: Ate in the restaurant at night, and what a treat Breakfast was freshly cooked and a great selection.
My partner and I just got back from a weekend in the meadow suite luxury pods. The pods are extremely modern, clean and comfortable with excellent facilities for a romantic getaway. The grounds, restaurants, and bars within the Manor House are also really sleek with great food & drink accompanied by excellent service and a warming atmosphere. The staff are extremely friendly and as a whole, our weekend away was fantastic. I would recommend this place to anybody seeking a romantic break. We will certainly be returning in the future. A huge thank you to all the staff for a perfect weekend.

07/01/23 Out first time at Marshall Meadows was very enjoyable. We stayed in a pod and had the use of a hot tub for the evening. Fantastic location, staff were very friendly & welcoming and the food was outstanding. We can't wait to return!Rooms: 5/5
Beautiful location, we loved our stay room was beautiful, food amazing and accommodating when asked for mocktail versions of drinks menu! We were a little disappointed when we realised dogs were allowed in all rooms but 2..... we were kept awake throughout the night with dogs barking, and then awoken early by staff using the cupboards situated outside of our room.
