Always end up waiting 20-45 minutes later than our appointment time. Extremely inconvenient as we’re dealing with our newborn appointments.
Always found it easy to get an appointment and treatment here. The online form system works surprisingly well and stops you from having to play the "fastest finger first" phone game at 8am to get an appointment. Not a single negative experience with this GP yet. Friendly staff and helpful doctors/nurses/physiotherapist.
Very, very poor..filled out the online form at the start of May, as per surgery's preferred process. I was phoned back that day, so far so good, "doctor would like to see you, can we make an appointment". Yes. "We have an appointment available on Thursday 25th mid morning or can get you in to New Cross at 8:45 Saturday 27th". I work mon-fri, so took the 27th. Doctor at New Cross asked me two questions and told me he would have to refer me back to Marsh St, for them to arrange treatment ie a steroid injection . "If you don't hear anything in next two weeks contact them." Waited 10 days and decided to call. "Someone will phone you back today". No one phoned, nor during next day by 3 pm, so decided to call in on way home from work. Receptionist apologised for no phone call. Apparently I am on the list #11 to have the injection, but "we only do them once a month" and "the next one, Friday 9th, is fully booked". So will be another until next month.....never mind though, I can deal with several more weeks of pain and discomfort, that could be solved by a 2 minute procedure. Before end of 2019 I could not fault the service provided by Marsh St and Oulton surgeries. In the last two years, however, it has become, at least for me, non- existent, everything is now too much trouble.. 13th June,Addendum, Called and offered another Morning only appointment for 11th July, another 4 weeks. It has become obvious to me that this surgery is now run purely for the benefit and convenience of the doctors and not the patients they claim to serve.
Time 20 minutes to get told no ring back tomorrow to speak to another staff member. It was 5.23pm 5.50pm I thought she's still working Dr Browning had promised me he would do my monthly tablets on our phone call Friday 7th Oct. Now 10th October 2 items had been ordered. I have over 10 items monthly. I am disappointed and stressed . My anxiety and anxiety puts more pressure on my breakdown. Why hurt the weak people. I was at 17.55 hours leave it with me. That means another day where I don't get my tablets and drops etc. Why hurt the old turn off phones so not take my call 4 times it went through then back to you are in queue. I'm crying as I write this fearful I even said do I need to phone 111, she said you can but you need to call here talk to Dr's . I did that and not done.
As a family we have frequently used the practice and have always had a tremendously good service both from reception staff and medical staff. It might be hard to get through via the telephone in the morning which is difficult for some patients, but as I am able to use the e consult that's not an issue for us and it's always been responded to appropriately. I think the practice does a fantastic job in such trying circumstances.
Lack of communication. Lack of support in times of need. 3.5 week wait for a telephone appointment which no doubt the econsult won't be read and you will be asked why you are calling. I know I should seek a new surgery. Really disappointed with them On hold for over one and a half hours cut off three times, tried multiple times after 2pm, some attempts resulting in an automated message saying calls cannot be answered try again trying to get nurse appointment. None available until April the 1st and its now the 3rd March. The E-consults turned off after 2pm so you have no way of contacting the surgery. If I could give zero stars I would and yes I am transferring
Nothing to say but poor. I’m sure I’m not the only one who wants Ito know the actual trained clinician that’s triaging patients and see there qualifications posted on the website. Because Iv had a cough 7 weeks possible whooping cough if I’d have got in to see or speak to a dr within 3 weeks not 6 I may not have infected people or symptoms been as bad . You can’t listen to someone’s chest down a phone or on an e consult just saying….
Takes too long to answer phone.40 minutes. 5 minutes talking to receptionist. Follow up phone call from doctor another 5 minutes with doctor asking me what I wanted him to do. Eventualiy had a prescription sent to chemist which was wrong when I went to collect., Back to phone and after 3 days of trying and another 50 minutes on hold spoke to receptionist again explained what the error was.she said I'll sort it and to collect another prescription.A doctor then rang me back and asked why I needed more medication.
Always find the staff here very helpful. I love the e consult form as it makes it so much easier to get an answer if it is not urgent. Also like how the telephone system actually tells you what number you are in the queue so you know if you need to wait 2 minutes as you are number 2 or put it on speaker phone and make yourself a cuppa as number 10.
I visited today with my mum who had an appointment, I cheekily asked Dr Duvenage if there was any point me booking an appointment to get a skin tag removed but she did it there and then in under a minute. It sounds like a small thing but I was very self conscious about the tag and couldn't put my hair up out of embarrassment. The Dr was lovely and again, has made a big difference to my confidence. Thank you x
