I visited to get something for lunch from the food store. The selection was excellent and had had a nice variety of different things compared to the supermarket I usually use. It was a little more expensive, but the food was all delicious and worth the extra cost. It would be a little too expensive for me to get my lunch every day, but will definitely visit again when I fancy a treat and something a bit different.
My mother has shopped at this store since it opened. You could call that a loyal customer.nWhen I came back to the U.K, first time in 7 years to visit she told me she had an eventful day shopping there.nThe cashier managed to drop her M&S card down the thinnest crack between the two tables at the checkout. They tried to retrieve it there and then but those cashier tables can not be separated. Handed in her email and left the store.nnA week or two has passed and my mother visits the store again to ask about the situation, this time I’m with her.nThe two cashiers were awful, clearly didn’t give a damn and once again clarified to say those two tables cannot be moved. One of them just kept suggesting and saying to use the app as it’s easier etc.nnThat might be so but what if you prefer using the physical cards. My mother is a senior citizen and does not use her app for purchasing and rewards. Unfortunately they don’t do the physical cards anymore and it’s all online.nnImagine if that was her bank card or maybe she gave the wrong club card and that got lost.nnWhat I recommend they should do is when the store is closed is the try and pull those two counters apart to retrieve it and even anything else that’s lost down there. This won’t happen in Japan! But it seems that the staff here now don’t care and think one customer even on the loyalty it’s not worth the hassle.nM&S for shame and I wish I did get the staff names.nOne fine staff gentleman remembered the incident and actually tried to help.
Really annoyed with M&S in Carmarthen. I went today specifically to purchase a white long sleeved shirt for the following day. There was plenty to chose from and I found my size and purchased the item, which was bagged and took home. When ironing the shirt for tomorrow, I noticed both sleeves were creased across the elbow area and on closer inspection noticed the collar marked! If it wasn't for the fact I need this shirt for the morning, I would take it back, but I have no option but to wear it after a wash, plus I live 40 minutes away from Carmarthen. Is this the standard M&S are now sinking to. I will certainly closely examine all future purchases and would recommend everyone else does too.
Expensive place to shop but staff are kind and willing to help when needed. I would however ask for it to be more accessible to disabled people perhaps by having an escalator going down aswell
The 5 stars is for Ben at the bakery. I don't know if he ever has a day off, but he's always there whenever I go. He's helpful & professional, but never pushy. He knows not to bother you unnecessarily, but offers help when he can see that you're looking for something & really goes the extra mile to help. He's so conscientious and a real asset to M&S. They're lucky to have him!
