I am extremely disappointed with the level of customer service received from Marks & Spencer.nPrior to the birth of our twins, we purchased several packs of “Early baby” grows in preparation for a premature arrival. However, our babies were born slightly larger than expected and completely skipped this size, meaning the items remained unused, unopened, and in their original packaging.nDuring this time, my partner had undergone a caesarean section and required significant support in the weeks following the birth. As you can imagine, caring for two newborns while managing post-surgery recovery meant that returning these items was understandably not a priority.nWhen I later visited the store with the original receipt, simply hoping to exchange the items for a larger size, I was told this was not possible as they had been kept for over a month and fell outside the returns policy. I explained the circumstances and requested to speak with the store manager in the hope that some discretion or goodwill could be applied. Unfortunately, the response was inflexible and dismissive, with the policy repeated without any consideration for the situation.nWe were not seeking a refund—only a straightforward exchange for the correct size—yet this was refused. The lack of empathy and unwillingness to accommodate what I believe is a very reasonable request was frustrating.nGiven the current cost of living and the nature of baby clothing—where sizing can change rapidly and unpredictably—I would expect a company like Marks & Spencer to show greater understanding and flexibility in situations like this.nFollowing this, we contacted head office via email to explain our experience. They responded very promptly and issued a gift code for the full value of the items, which we appreciated. However, this does highlight that flexibility is clearly possible within the company, and suggests that additional training or discretion at store management level may be needed to better support customers in situations like ours.nOverall, a very disappointing in-store experience.
Food hall bit cramped but plenty of selection. Fashion for ladies downstairs. The gents and underwear,nightwear and home upstairs. Cafe' and loos upstairs. Cafe' small but nice cooked fresh food.
Typical M&S, exactly what you'd expect. My biggest annoyance is the food department where there are just no signs over any of the aisles, so finding stuff is a nightmare, especially when it's busy which it usually is. Come on guys, every other supermarket has mastered the art of helping their customers find what they are looking for. Try to keep up. Having said that, quality is good for both food and clothing, but it's also priced accordingly.
Great little M&S, always loads to choose from in the clothing section, fruit and veg is always fresh, for me the only thing that could be better is the frozen food section as its so small,
