Historical structure with lots to see, dating back to Pict times, connections to the real Lady MacBeth, and the pilgrim train to St Andrew. Should interest military history, and architecture buffs, as well as those who love to wander old cemetaries and take in lovely views. Local guides offer informative tours. The church's sanctuary has good acoustics and seating, a nice venue that is close to the Markinch railway station.
Fascinating ancient medieval church built at the time of Macbeth. Got a guided tour from a church officer who was very pleasant, interesting and keen to showcase his church. Nice to see the 5 Pals memorial in pristine condition.
Popped in to the church for a look around . To be honest it was to kill 40 mins as I was waiting to collect my car from the garage up the road. It is a beautiful building steeped in history. I was lucky enough to meet Job, the tour guide and thought the info/ history he shared was really interesting. Well worth a visit if you are in the town...Five stars around!
A very old and beautiful church located in the centre of Markinch which was once site of justice in pictish times.
Brought an American friend here as he has ancestral links to the town. We were blown away by the church - dates from12th century! Incredibly helpful volunteer guide chap too, sorry, his name has slipped my mind now. Thanks for making my friend's trip so special!
