A small station and I couldn't find a staff member there moreover there was no wifi in this station. You can get a train to Dundee on an hourly basis and to be honest, that's a long wait. Not a good experience at all. Other stations like Cupar and Kirkcaldy are way better in all aspects.
For a small-town station, this is a great place to start a trip into Edinburgh. The staff was very friendly, there was a key-controlled bathroom available, and the train went straight in to Edinburgh without changing trains. We were tempted to take a first class round trip ticket, but first class seats were not available for the later return trip. Watch the schedules and the updates to time your arrival, as there is not much space that is covered on the platforms.
The office lady Carol was so kind helpful and fantastic. She took time to help me with my tickets and re new my travel together passes too. She was always smiling and no question I asked was an issue. Such a lovely lady. Thank you xx
Our peg enjoyed playing with dolls House and auld fella whose done the place up has done Scottish rail proud. Kept her quiet while waiting for train and I got to look at all models while waiting.nn100% best train station I have been
Colin at Markinch station ticket office is the most friendly and helpful person we have met when organising trips.We live local to markinch but he is the best anywhere we have been.Nothing too much trouble and always a laugh as well.Ticket office he keeps stocked with books and historical pics a credit to him and his colleagues.Service like his is unfortunately rare today .Hope his employers appreciate him as much as the customers do.nRegardsnIan Kintrea
