"The former Ritz building in the centre of Matlock brought the establishment of Maazi in 2005. Its ancient spirit and historic ambience contributed to the cultural history that Maazi stands for. With tuk-tuk’s being displayed, rose petals on the staircases and views overlooking an Edwardian park, our authentic Indian dining experience will keep you wanting more.A two floored restaurant which offers a humble family meal, as well as the opportunity to book a private floor and bar always has its doors open for loyal Derbyshire locals, and those from further afield."

Haven't been here in 5 years since I was last in Matlock but this restaurant was still as good as I remembered! Fantastic food, excellent service, loads of great dairy free options too which is great as a lot of less authentic Indian restaurants just pour cream in everything. If you're in Matlock do yourself a favour and try it out!
We had a takeaway Friday night. It was the worst takeaway we have ever had. The curries were awful. Absolutely disgusting. Extremely oily with no flavour. The Special pila rice was uncle Ben's brown rice with nuts in????!!! the Pila rice was again uncle Ben's brown rice and we ordered and paid for poppadoms and dips for a party of 4 but as per the picture attached this is how much sauce they gave us for a family of 4... a blooming teaspoon of each!!!!! When we called and complained the woman on the other end of the line said "oh maybe the chef wasn't so generous with the size and tipped some out" Thanks for that! Wouldn't recommend. Disgusting place and over priced for what you get ... barely anything
Atmosphere was lacking, but in fairness it was a rainy, cold ,Monday evening in November. My meal.was lovely, but there wasn't much meat on the half chicken my husband had. Service was good, it had been a few years since my last visit, still a lovely restaurantFood: 3/5
Great curry and service nice location , I couldn't fault a thing. Vegetarian options: Good veggie selection
This used to be one of my favourite Indian restaurants several years ago, the owner is polite and always happy to see you and the staff are attentive and polite, they get let down on the portions of things coming out in little pots, I had to ask for more rice because it was the smallest amount I had ever seen. This is a shame as I do not mind paying for good food but when you are paying at a premium you want to be at least full when you leave. Sorry but from being a regular yo never again.
*** Very Busy and Booking Recommended*** I booked a table for 19:30 but we didn’t get seated until 20:00. I would highly recommend booking as they were very busy. The starters weren’t great, the meat seemed quite dry and there was a hole in the metal dish it was served in. The mains were amazing, the flavour was ridiculously good and I couldn’t stop eating. This more than made up for the starters and the slow service. The place was packed and it is understandable as to why.
Decent food and good atmosphere. Perfect for a dinner date on valentines day.Food: 4/5
Absolutely fantastic food. So good. Lovely place with really nice staff.Food: 5/5
This restaurant was excellent, the food was delicious. All the staff were very friendly and polite. The social distance measures were in place. We will definitely be returning.
Excellent meal, friendly and attentive staff. Had Poppadoms with Pickle Tray to start Then for the main we shared a Naan and Egg Fried Rice with Chicken Balti and Caramelised Kashmiri, all very good and delicious The restaurant wasn’t too busy and we waited a few minutes for our starter then about 15 minutes for the main course
