Great location in Rock and a very smart pub/ eatery. Super food selection on menu and good wine list. Had some whitebait to start followed by Cod & Chips, really very good. Do book if you can as normally very busy.Staff all extremely pleasant and helpful.
Booked three months in advance to make sure we got a table. Mentioned on my booking about vegetarian options for my wife who was immediately handed a veggie menu on arrival. Great service. Food was amazing. Loved the Dogs Pollock, really tasty and brilliantly served. Great table with amazing views. Loved it
Really not hard to give this place 5 stars. You can tell the location is in an expensive neighbourhood. They sat the three of us in a lovely window spot overlooking the boats which was the best seat in the house. The front of house was friendly - our table wasn’t ready initially but they offered us a seat at the bar. Particularly one front of house who’s name I didn’t catch with possibly a South African accent was excellent. Now onto the food - it was truly fantastic. I had the pollock hot dog which was interesting. My sister said the fish and chips were top notch. Would come here again if in Cornwall.
Probably the best fish and chips in the world! Just love The Mariners and a must visit every time we are in Cornwall. Staff are super friendly and attentive. Stunning views and great food.
My favourite pub in all of the UK, took a pilgrimage down to Cornwall from Merseyside 3 times in 2021 and made sure to eat here each time we did. If you can get in for a Sunday dinner I'd highly recommend!
Loved our lunch at the Mariners. Rock is a lovely place to visit in general and the Mariners finished off a lovely morning wandering along the sand. The restaurant decor and setting was lovely, with great views over the water. The menu was varied with lots of great options. My husband went for the mariners ploughman's with a great selection, and I had the burger. Both our dishes were perfectly cooked. The waiters were also very friendly and accommodating. Would highly recommend lunch or dinner at this lovely restaurant.
A first class quality lunch. Very much a menu for adults. The chefs are to be complimented. Staff were very helpful and super efficient. The views from the restaurant across the River Camel are magnificent. An ideal venue for that special occasion.
A tad too busy for us during the "silly season" but outside those times, a lovely pub to visit. Last time, we also had some food. Three of us went for the fish and chips and all of us thought it was fantastic. I went as far as to say, it was the best I have ever eaten! A brave statement but one I stand by 4 weeks later
Very enjoyable lunch, see the picture of the menu for the options. The prices were not terrible considering it was Rock, a pub run by a well know chef and the quality was good. We sat upstaurs and had a good view over the bay. It wasn't busy but there were plenty of customers for a quiet Friday in March, I doubt it would be the same in July and August. Service was quick and friendly.
Lovely atmosphere, staff attentive and professional. We had lovely glass of red and perfect pint of doom. Would recommend the scotch egg and oysters the cabbage side dish was literally yummy, also had the buttermilk chicken which was so tasty. Pricey if your not use to quality but perfectly priced for area and quality. Really delicious Enjoyed x
