I've lived here most my life, but I never normally went to the beach except for in summer. Every morning while I'm walking to the train station I capture beautiful sunrises and walk to my home after school are very pretty sunsets.
It's a lovely beach. I visited in an off peak season, so it was really quiet. However, I can see in the peak time in summer it would be very busy and become a big seaside resort. For the time I visited it though, I thought it was beautiful. It was so calming, great place for dogs - good parking bit expensive but you expect that with it being a beach So I would definitely go again, but probably not during peak time in summer! Also the statue is really cool, worth reading up on!
Lovely beach to spend time with family, kids really enjoyed the soft sand, nice places where you can eat and drink but the only problem are the toilets, dirty and disgusting, busy all the time.
First time in Margate and we will be back as we want to explore of the food places. It was a mild February day and we still managed to have ice-cream on the beach. The beach was relatively clean just the odd cider bottle here and there. It wasn't too busy but can imagine in the summer it being completely rammed. We took the kids to the arcade but had to constantly ask the staff to sort the machines as they weren't paying out tickets. The kids still had fun. The art deco architecture is stunning but it's a shame like so many other seaside towns that many of the beautiful building stand empty and in need of investment, restoration and love.
Please put your rubbish in the bin when you visit Margate beach. It shouldn't be so hard to keep clean your back. Even though local people clean up after you every day, they may not be quick enough to keep the garbage from spreading into the ocean. That's not fair for local people, for the future, for the world. What a beautiful place you are Margate. The beach is wonderful, the ocean is beautiful. You can watch a mesmerizing sunrise by the stairs. I know have so many seaweed in the edge of the sea but if you walk a bit inside the sea, most of the time especially in the morning that you can have swimming experience as the Mediterranean. People are unbelievably friendly and happy. What have along the beach side: Fish and chips takeaway, fish restaurants, pizza restaurants, Turkish food & meze restaurants, cocktail bars, LGBT clubs and pubs, Turner contemporary art gallery and more things.
Lovely beach and we enjoyed with my friends a lovely day out with no so Many tourists thanks to the mild weather
loved visiting this beach, it gets much quieter after 6pm. People are so lovely here!!!!!
Stunning coastal walk from Maragate out to Botany Bay. Two beaches with life guards there are busy but very safe. These pictures are from a walk between both busy beaches. Great vibe around the place snd clean. Fantastic for dog walks
Nice sand beach close to London. Direct train from London Victoria to margate. Water was not clear though, lot of sea weeds. But it was fun day out. There is a pool area as well which was the worst part of the beach.
Lovely place to walk and relax. Amazing ambience and great food cuisines to choose from.
