Every restaurant in a hotel benefits from a steady flow of hotel guests who don’t want to drive for dinner. When you feel like they’re taking advantage of you for it, it leaves a bad taste in your mouth. The staff were friendly and professional, but we had to flag them down more than once. My wife’s steak didn’t come with a steak knife. The food was decent, but the prices were not. I love good food, and am happy to pay for a great meal. These prices started to reach a pain threshold. £15 for a Mac and cheese that needed salt and pepper. £19.50 for a burger and small serving of chips. The staff were friendly and accommodating, and the space has a nice vibe, but I wouldn’t recommend it if you don’t want to feel hosed.
We stayed at the hotel for 2 nights and had dinners here. The quality of the food is really good. Steaks and burgers were very delicious. Would highly recommend to try a fish cake - it’s unbelievable. Cocktails are decent size and guys made them right every time. The service was quick and the staff was very friendly and helpful.
I recently stayed at double tree Cadbury house and used Marco Pierre White Steakhouse for 2 evening meals and 2 breakfasts. Me and my partner were treated to a lovely menu on both nights with a lot to pick from. As you can see from the pictures we had a couple of chicken dishes, steak, burger. Deserts were stick toffee pudding, chocolate brownie and apple crumble. The food over the duration of our stay was brilliant and the service was on point. Thank you to Jess and her team for looking after us. Nothing was to much trouble and the advice given by the staff while torn between dishes was a nice touch. Everyone has lots of knowledge of the food & hotel. That went a long way while enjoying the restaurant experience. Thank you very much and we will see you soon!!!
Average. Visited for Afternoon Tea. The food was average, nothing special considering Marco Pierre White's name is above the door. The service was disappointing. Arrived at the register & the staff member continued doing what they were doing for 3 minutes before even acknowledging I was there. We were seated & left for 10 minutes before being offered drinks. Once we were served we were left to 'fend for ourselves,' weren't asked if we needed anything extra. Once finished we had to ask for the bill as I think they forgot we were there.
My partner and I tried this restaurant out despite the appalling reviews online we like to make our own judgement and write our own grounded and honest reviews. Marco Pierre White - an absolute no go! I would not recommend it to anyone. Famous for its steaks but shamelessly let down by people that don’t know how to cook a steak. Both ordered our steaks Medium and they both arrived very well done. We tried the starters, mains, desserts, cocktails and wines. The only things that tasted nice were the drinks and desserts. They were delightful. Service in the restaurant was very very disappointing, staff are rude, irritable. Some customer service training is definitely needed. Breakfast was shockingly bad, ignored by staff, cold food and missing items off the plate. Very disappointing and such a basic thing to get right. The only thing that was nice was the little conservatory/terrace to the restaurant for seating. The roof opens & closes. For the price, I definitely wouldn’t recommend this restaurant nor would I go back.
We had afternoon tea and the food was excellent. The staff were very friendly and attentive. The only issue was the car parking. If you are only there for the restaurant/day visitor you DO NOT need to pay for car parking and simply Enter your registration on a pad in the restaurant. There are signs all over the car park warning you to pay and it is only in quite small print stating restaurant guests don't need to pay. So between all of us we were out by about £6
Nice enough place to visit well presented and assertive staff, unfortunately very limited menu. Some meals were put together well, others not so much. . . Anyone requiring vegetarian or vegan options, stay at home they don't cater for your needs.
We stayed at the hotel and booked a table at the Marco Pierre White restaurant for my wife's birthday, restaurant did give us a nice table and atmosphere was great. waiter took our drinks order and then asked if we had made a decision on our food so we placed our order all together big mistake!! literally 30 seconds after we ordered our starters arrived at the table no sign of our drinks and I should of sent them back but decided to crack on eventually our drinks did turn up after a gentle reminder from us we had now finished our starters the waiter then reappeared and asked if we had finished with our starters and could he clear the cutlery, 30 seconds again and our main meals appeared!! is this a race or something, we'd only been at the table ten minutes or less!! this time I said to them please take this back and give us a chance to digest our starters and actually take a sip or two of our drinks, the poor waitress didn't know what to do expect then avoid coming anywhere near our table for the rest of the evening. we did then get about a ten minute gap till the food reappeared but did look like it had just been kept under a heat lamp this wasn't a major issue as it was still hot and cooked very well Marco Pierre White please train your staff better and explain to them this isn't Mc Donalds and that I'm not shoving down a Big Mac and chips!!! people like to take there time and enjoy there food and wine.. lets hope it improves by my next visit
We had a night at the hotel and booked in to the restaurant. I can’t express how attentive the staff was. Nothing was to much trouble from the moment of walking in to the restaurant. The food was excellent and we will be back being hungry for more. The Restaurant manager who had a chat with us giving time for his guests and show how professional he and his staff. This is a must to try I really can’t tell you how nice this place is
It wouldn’t be fair of me to comment on the food as we dined care of a groupon voucher, so we weren’t getting the full experience. The restaurant was smartly modern, large and airy, and the waitress at our table was pleasant, efficient and smiley. You’ll pay London prices for a steak here we googled the menu so it’s not the cheapest place to eat,
