Lovely sandy beach with stunning views and rock pools to explore plus it's on the coastal path if you want to wander further afield. Access is via a narrow road which won't be fun during peak season. Free toilets at the car park and an ice cream van are the only facilities so bring your own picnic.
We walked from Manorbier to Freshwater Lake and back along the coastal path last week. N.B.The car park doesn't take cards and there was no phone reception so we had to go back to the village to get cash at the shop annoying!. Beach is quite pretty although not the best on this coastal stretch there's a fair bit of competition. It's a mix of shingle and sand and was used by body boarders, paddle boarders etc as fairly wavy. Fantastic, quite hard walk from here lots of up and down on some scrabbly and would be very muddy paths in wet weather, my husband thought it wasn't too tough though! The views going and coming from the beach are lovely. We also visited the castle which is just about worth the entrance price of £6 £4.50/5 would be more realistic and the views from the Tower towards the beach are fab!
Beautiful dog-friendly beach which doesn't get too busy. Great waves for body-boarding, but be aware there's no lifeguard
Beautiful location with stunning views. Great beach for kids with rock pools and stream running across beach. Not the best for sand or swimming though. Ample parking pay at meter and nice short flat walk from car park which makes it one of the most accessible in the area.
Nice small sandy beach with castle views is really nice, good parking and facilities too. Was very busy as is only small and gets quite stoney and quickly deep when the tide goes out which the kids weren’t such a fan off, but the river was good for playing in.
Great if your kids like rock pooling, mix of stones and sand. It's quite a rugged beach on one side so if you have beach shoes take them as can be quite a walk if the tide is out if you walk around the non rugged way. Toilets are near the main carpark which is a good few minutes away, but they were kept pretty clean. Watched the sunset one night and returned two days later for the kids to have a swim in the sea and rockpool as they loved it.
If you visit on a gloomy wet day at high tide, you’d be forgiven for wondering why this beach is so highly rated. But in the sun at low tide, a beautiful sandy bay is revealed. Lots of rock pools to investigate, and wonderful sandy expanse. Limited facilities, but cafe and pub in the village. Lovely spot.
Good sized carpark with toilets . Nice clean beach with good areas of sand . Lovely views - crystal clear water & lastly , but not least ! an ice cream van .
Amazing. Unspoilt. Quiet. Beautiful. One of my favourite places on earth! Almost don't want to post as don't really want to encourage others to come ; beach is amazing. Coastal walk is exhilarating. And don't forget the norman castle and tea rooms. Love it
Great view of the Castle from the beach, plenty of rock pools! Great for big kids like me! The dogs had fun paddling, and some clever soul managed to pile up stones into a tower, which was there for the entire week without tumbling.
