Discovered this gem on the walk to the Guinness Storehouse. Stopped by for a coffee and admired the selection of food and cakes. Therefore, on the way back, we had to get lunch. A gorgeous toasted club we had along with cakes. Delicious
I ordered the Black Forest Gateau cake online from the US for my daughter’s birthday. Unfortunately, delivery in Dublin was attempted when she had not arrived from work and the residential building staff is not allowed to receive food. The cake was returned to Manning’s Bakery Thomas St. Dublin and I lost my 10 euros delivery fee. My daughter had to go running to the bakery after work there were no taxis available to pick up the cake in person and fortunately she was able to arrive five minutes before closing time and with all the running she probably lost all the calories she would later gain with the cake. At first the nice bakery staff could not locate the cake but a few minutes later they found it in another refrigerator. When she arrived home, we sang Happy Birthday remotely and after that she started eating the cake. I noticed a strange expression on her face during the video call and asked her if she liked the cake. She did not want disappoint me by telling me but I insisted and she admitted she did not like the cake too much. The exterior white cream was bland as if it had no sugar. The sponge cake felt dry not moist. But at least the Black Cherry Jam soaked in rum was good. I suggested she put a piece of cake in a cup and mixed it all up to mix the flavors and put some ice-cream on top. She liked that combination! So the cake will now be eaten that way.
I ordered a large cream and fruit Sponge cake for my birthday on December 31st and I was delighted with it. A very soft, moist sponge with very fresh fruit and the whole look of the cake was gorgeous. All guests loved it! I had arranged delivery to the venue but it hadn't opened when they delivered. Karen called me about alternative arrangements and was very helpful. I ended up collecting the cake myself and I was reimbursed the delivery cost. I had a great experience with Manning's and would highly recommend it to anyone!
Beautiful cafe , I sat in and had a lovely toasted sandwich and tea, then took some treats home for the rest of us
Went to the cafe this morning with my daughter and her husband We stood around not knowing what to do for about 10 minutes before someone told us to order at the till. We ordered a full breakfast and 2 breakfast sandwiches. The breakfast sandwich was ok the bread was very dry and kind of fell apart from being toasted.. but the food was nice and fresh inside, I asked for cheese on one of them and I was told no I couldn’t add it the full breakfast on the other hand was the exact same as what’s in the sandwich apart from an extra egg and half of a tomato u advertise full breakfast but don’t state what’s on it. For €10 I think it was very expensive for 2 bacon 2 sausage and 2 eggs. The tea was extra on that as well absolutely crazy!!!! €35 for 2 sandwiches a ‘MINI’ breakfast and 3 teas.. robbery!
Brought my mam and dad out yesterday from the nursing home and a few other family members, went into Thomas St branch, got 4 coffees and 2 teas and cakes. Which was nice, but I asked for 3 cappuccino and I got 3 flat whites with chocolate, I didn't want to embarrassed the lady that made them, telling her there not cappuccinos, so we just left them there. If the staff don't know how to make the coffees, I'd suggest that you send them on a course to learn the different types of coffees and how the milk should beit's only a couple of hours, the barista company can come out to your shop. Other than that it was nice for my mam
Always leaves me craving for more. Since I came in Ireland, ordering mannings cake for the birthday has been our tradition. We love the flavours and the quality. It’s so good and so soft.
I recommend here. Nice bakery. Good helpful and friendly staff. Such a terrible pity the Mannings bakery in Thomas street stop doing carvery or dinners. The cakes are lovely from here. I definitely be going here again.
A little confused it hey serves breakfast or not, but they did this day. The toast was very good. The coffee was also delicious. Eggs could’ve used salt, but still good.
Aside from the area, this is a nice little bakery. The food and coffee is nice, but I wouldn't go in there at lunch time if you were looking for a quiet lunch. They have a large variety of deserts and pastry's and the staff are always nice.
