One of the most beautiful buildings of Manchester. The cathedral is free to visit outside of events. It's really beautiful with all of the colorful stained glass windows. It's not very big inside so you can see everthing in around 30 minutes. If you love cathedral and historical buildings, you need to visit!
Right in the heart of the city and free to enter, which already makes it worth stepping into. From the outside it looks dark and properly gothic, but inside it opens up with colorful stained glass and detailed medieval carvings in wood and stone. You can take photos, there’s a helpful map with a short history at the entrance, and the whole place feels calm despite being central. Definitely worth visiting.
A really beautiful church. The beautiful colorful windows and this beautiful central aisle. Not only take pictures, but also linger for a short time and perceive the impressions. I was there on Feb.08.26. Fortunately, it was not so crowded.
Heavily restored and surprisingly unassuming for a 'cathedral' in such a major city. Yet it has character and a calming presence. Maybe not a major UK cathedral from an architectural point of view yet it has plenty to see and appreciate.nnNice gentle welcome, too
This was on our list of places to visit for our two day trip to Manchester! We were greeted by the lovely Howard who introduced us to the cathedral and told us to take as many photos as we could! It was wonderful to understand the history and have a stroll in the gardens. We would 100% recommend.
