Went there for my birthday. The place was beautiful and spacious. Got a nice seat. The waiters were nice. I loved the meals! Starter was delicious, well spiced, good portion. Mains were also very lovely. Portions great. Loved everything
Was very nice, service was amazing, staff were lovely. Food portions were in the small side but then I didn't feel too bad ordering a dessert. Cocktails were lovely too.
MAMBOS WINE AND DINE First time at Mambos and the food was Devine. First dish was the chicken surf and turf with tiger prawns half a lobster and mussels in lobster bisque. 9/10 for price. Full lobster with king prawns and mussels. I asked for my mussels to be cooked in tomato and chilli sauce that's why they are separate. Beautiful all round little bit more pricey this dish. And would have preferred something other than lobster bisque. 8/10 Service and venu/decor was 10/10 Cocktail menu looked amazing but I didn't try any to judge..
This restaurant is fantastic. The decoration of the place, the staff, the menu, the food and the general atmosphere of the place is absolutely fantastic. I had the cheesy garlic bread as a sharer for the table, surf and turf main meal and a sticky toffee pudding desert and it was absolutely stunning. I will be returning as a regular to this place to try out the menu, it is a must try for anyone willing to travel here or lives local. I've been fortunate to work all over England, the rest of Europe, north america and East Africa and this is without a doubt in my top 5 if not possibly top 3 places I've eaten at. Unbelievable for south shields to have this establishment. Sorry I've not got any photos to give this place better praise as I didn't have my phone with me. Vegetarian options: There is a vegetarian selection and lots of meals would also suite pescatarians. Kid-friendliness: This is a very friendly restaurant and from my visit it was family orientated with all ages dining. Wheelchair accessibility: If you have any restrictions with walking, there is a disabled elevator just to the left once you have entered through the main entrance. Dietary restrictions: You are asked by the staff when they come to take your order about any dietary requirements.
I was at Mambos last night with family for dinner, and I was impressed. The food was great with good size portions and the staff service was excellent, fast and very professional even though the restaurant was very busy. The waiter knew what the soup of the day was without having to go and ask, and they gave us steak knives without having to ask for them, many restaurants don't. The surroundings were classy and the toilets spotless. Will definitely go again and would recommend. 5 star review well deserved. Thanks to Mambos for a great night.
Second time visit for Sunday lunch and like my first time the food was excellent. The staff are so friendly and make a proper fuss of you. Also if you have children with you they take so much time fussing over them and humouring them. Service is second to none nothing is any bother to them a joyful place to be .Food: 5/5
Nice restaurant with elaborate decor. The service and food were excellent but being Easter Friday the restaurant was very busy and they may have sqeezed in a few extra tables. Have been before when not so busy and really enjoyed it.Food: 5/5

Have just got home after experiencing this restaurant. We had the sharing fusion meze for starter it was magnificent and we barely had half as we needed to save room for the main. I had the tomahawk steak for main and my wife had the lasagne, both of us said could not get over how good the dishes were it was honestly the nicest steak in my life it litera,lly melted in your mouth. That was just the food the venue is awe inspiring it must of cost near 7 figures to complete. The staff were amazing they could not do more they were even doing magic so my daughter would finish her food. Could not be anymore happy with the overall experience we both left with smiles on all of our faces we will be back very soon.
Our family been using this restaurant for many years, especially the older mambos near the town hall garage.The owner and staff ,always made you welcome.took my good lady for valentine,s meal last night , totally enjoyed the food,along with friendly staff.
