Absolutely fantastic service from a lovely lady on Friday 2 Feb 2024. I’m so sorry I did not get her name but she talked about her nephew in Tanfield this might help identify the lovely lady. She was very informative, which as new grandparents was what we needed. She provide excellent knowledge of new born car seats and prams to help us make an informed decision.nnWe purchased a Joie car seat with isofix and a prev-loved pram and I truly believe without her guidance helped us make two sensible purchases.nnPlease pass on our thanks to this lovely lady.nnSharon and Aidy
We visited the store today to look at car seats and prams, and whilst I had an idea in mind of what I wanted I was still very open to any suggestions and expertise.nnOur appointment was with Toni and she was absolutely fantastic, 10/10. Lots of choice overwhelmingly so! so we told Toni our priorities she quickly narrowed it down to three prams and she knew everything about them, their differences, how to set them up etc and gave us plenty of time to play around with all of the different models. We then moved on to car seats and again she quickly narrowed it down to two on our preferences and was fabulous at demonstrating how they worked, how the isofix bases installed and again their pros and cons. No pressure to buy on that day at all and she went above and beyond even giving us a heads up that our choices would be reduced in the Black Friday event in 1-2 weeks. We couldn’t praise Toni any more.nnThe manager’s behaviour however Rachel? was not satisfactory. On our arrival the manager informed us that the staff member who was originally taking our appointment was off sick and she was really apologetic that we’d have to ‘make do’ with Toni who ‘had only been there for three months’ so Toni might not be able to answer everything and if not we can grab the manager, and that ‘calvary was on the way so Toni can be switched out in 20-30 minutes’. She essentially berated Toni to us for a good 5 minutes, in front of Toni, before Toni began the appointment. To her credit Toni took it like an absolute champ and very professionally - if that was me it would have made me cry out of embarrassment or really put me on edge for the appointment but she was more than great.nnThe manager then came over after 20 minutes checking with us if Toni has been ok and asking essentially if we wanted to swap Toni as the ‘cavalry’ had now arrived, all again in front of Toni, to which we said no and that Toni had been terrific. We then saw the manager in the car park on leaving who again asked how Toni did and my husband told her to be nicer to Toni in the future .nnI understand that the manager was trying to manage expectations but all the manager had to say was ‘unfortunately X who was originally walking you through our prams and car seats is sick today, so Toni will be assisting you who being a newer team member may need to run a couple of your queries by me but she’s absolutely fantastic’, not smash Toni’s self esteem to bits in front of her and us. I really hope the manager apologises to Toni for how she handled the situation.
How easy is it to sell to would be parents? We were looking to purchase a travel system but were really put off with the lack of interest and information. Ignorant staff with no interest in customer service. Really bad experience and told not to buy a nappy bin because the assistant never bought one for her baby. As I made the journey there I bought a baby bath.
Nice and clean shop, easy to find. The sales assistant I was assigned did have quite a lot of information wrong however, which led me to need to get the correct information via health visitor and NHS website. I was told in store that the Maxi Cosi Iora Air was not able to be used with sleep bags, which on MCs on website it actually says is fine, and she recommended nests for use on a sofa, which is incredibly dangerous according to the Lullaby Trust and my health visitor. I am quite an information seeker for the safety of my baby, so I was able to easily get the right information, but other mothers may just take the sales assistants word for it. I would suggest having a brush up of sleep safety with your employees, and fact check them about which products can be used with which sleep bags in next to the bed cribs
After purchasing a travel system, with car seat , cot, Moses basket & stand., the only thing delivered was a mini cot & top half of a car seat.n** update**nPram & Moses basket & stand turned up.days after delivery date.nFortunately someone was home !nStill no swivel part of the car seat..nStaff at the time of sale were helpful.nCustomer care line not so much !
