It's a great jumping off point to the island's and a beautiful harbour.

It's a fine little town. Gets crowded when the "Harry Potter " train arrives; passengers flood the few restaurants. Good little grocery store for ferry snacks

Great place to start or end an adventure. I took the train from Mallaig to Oban on a Sunday. The journey was part bus replacement to Crianlarich and whilst this annoyed a few tourists, the station master dealt with it very calmly and got everyone on their way.

Quaint little town along the coast. Arrived via train from Glasgow (5 hour journey through the country). Amenities include a grocery store, restaurants, and a beautiful hotel - the west highland hotel. Took a ferry to Inverie to start a hiking trip.
