Currently on our last day in Robin lodge, and honestly can't fault anything, booked the lodge for a week away over the new year and my wife's 40th... From the moment we walked in, it was relaxing, warm, and very clean. The lodge is very well equipped from the kitchen to the family games, flavoured coffee, and the hot chocolate. Even the dinner table set up ready for Christmas. We've stayed at a fair few lodge over the years, but this 1 trumps them all. The site it's self is clean and very quiet. You dont feel overlooked. Honestly, I don't think there isn't anything Kevin could do more to make this last week any more magical and special. We'll definitely be back in the near future.
We just stayed for 3 nights in pod 1, everything perfect, clean, well equipped with fridge, microwave ,tv etc. Shower was great with constant hot water. The pod is deceptively spacious and my wife and I were very comfortable. Jacki contacted us before we arrived and said we could check in earlier at no extra cost. Brilliant time for chilling out, would definitely go back and will recommend it to our friends. Ian & Jane.
Not sure whether the pods are staying as a lot of new lodges being built. If they are they could do with some maintenance. Overall the pod was spacious and well equipped-although could do with an electric kettle and a knife set. The cooker was easy to use, but the kettle took ages to boil using this, refer to above. We found the bed and sofa uncomfortable but other people may find OK. The toilet door was rubbing on the floor this was reported so hopefully will be fixed. The shower cubicle is very small however the water pressure is really good, it could also do with resealing as a bit mouldy at the bottom. The outside of the pod paint peeling. There is no WiFi in the pods only in the lodges. Good location for touring the area, there is a shop/off licence 5 minutes walk away although it is a bit pricey. Two pubs close by also. Some nice walks near by shell island and waterfalls, be careful as there are not many pavements and it can be a busy road.
The property has potential but is suffering from a lack of maintenance. We arrived to find the WiFi broken, bulbs out, mould in the shower and old, worn mattresses. We also had a major leak in the bathroom when the pipe came off the loose bath tap, which required an emergency plumber. The wooden bath panel was still not fully repaired when we left. The owner was very confrontational when we complained about the broken WiFi, which was only fixed on our last day and despite initially suggesting a refund he refused any form of compensation after we left.
As others have said, the pods are surprisingly spacious although the shower is small - think campervan - but useable. Overall, the pods have plenty of room for a couple and there's a sofa-bed for 2 extra people - would be a bit crowded methinks :- Pods have everything you need, 2 ring electric cooker, microwave, toaster, small fridge, TV, DAB radio, bedding, towels, crockery, cutlery, loo roll, cleaning products, even a vacuum cleaner. No Wi-Fi in the pods, but I'm with O2 and the mobile signal and 4G were fine. The site is quiet and well kept and only a short walk to the 3 local pubs and village shop. The bus stop Barmouth one way, Porthmadog the other is also a very short walk away. Parking is adjacent to the pod. We actually stayed 4 nights - originally booked for 2 but extended our stay - and would definitely stay again.
We had a wonderful week. The home was clean tidy and very spacious. The spa was wonderful. We will definitely be returning and have already told our friends and family about the lodge and they keen on booking this in the future
Great place to stay, super clean and comfortable. Really peaceful and a great base to explore the area.Village is really nice we ate at the victoria Inn both nights and food and atmosphere were great. Definitely recommend
What a great place to relax and forget about hustle and bustle of everyday life. The logde was just wonderful and very well equipped with all the items you find in your house /kitchen. Situated in a beautiful and scenic place. Very quiet and chilled brake for families and friends
On first arrival the place looks amazing, walking inside, huge kitchen, living area with new TV. Bedrooms were big but bedding dated and beds uncomfortable. Oh and not to mention getting pricked by the feathers in the quilt. When we arrived we were told the hot tub wouldn't be ready until 8pm as it had been cleaned and water changed.... what a lie, the water might have been changed but it was filthy, on starting up the jets foam appeared on the top which is a clear indication that that it not been cleaned. We messaged the owners who were very defensive but agreed to come across and take a look. They decided to empty the tub and refill it again not really cleaning it Mark owner was very argumentative when I explained that I had used many hot tubs before and that I knew it needed better cleaning then just changing water.... I stopped arguing with him in fear of been asked to leave. The overall condition of the place was dirty see pictures the washing machine full of mould, pipe work in utility room dusty. Dishwasher was broken and unable to to see buttons on oven so food not been cooked properly.
This is our second time staying at artro lodges in Llanbedr, The first for the wife's 40th about 7yrs ago, and second was October 2021, we stopped Monday to Friday, Great location for peace and quiet, all rooms was quite spacious but above all the Hot tub was amazing, most of the cabins have log burners, but you will have to take your own logs with you! We had a great stay in 23 cedar Wood, only downside was the upstairs heating wasn't working but the rest of the cabin was fine, we did mention it to the owners but they didn't seem to be bothered about sorting it out, so we told them we'll be fine if it was going to be a problem, to which they said we'll get the plumber out on Friday when we've left! Overall I cannot fault the place it was a great get away for our 27th anniversary.... we will probably be back one day! The village has 2 pub restaurants, both are 5 minutes walk away and they're very welcoming, food is great & price is very acceptable for what you get! Shell island is just round the corner approximately 2 miles away.
