A good facility but unfortunately unwelcoming to people not like themselves. Two instances: last year my mother was rudely told not asked by an elderly man to leave the masjid bearing in mind she was in the woman's section, for absolutely no good reason. For what it's worth, we were praying Maghreb late catching up. I was still sat in the men's side but the same man telling my mum to leave because 'salah time is over' didn't say the same to me? It wasn't too far from Isha time, when my mum asked why is she being asked to leave, the same man blatantly lied saying they need to lock up the masjid. Before Isha? Why on earth is that behaviour allowed, what values do this masjid and it's attendees hold? Second, the reason I've decided to write a review, today I was taking a photo in the musallah and was approached in a very rude and unprofessional manner by a member of the masjid committee. For what it's worth, I'm a relatively well known hobbyist photographer in the South Wales area amongst the Muslim community. I walked in with my camera in my hand and bag over my shoulder shock, who'd expect a photographer to have a camera on them, giving my salaam to other attendees as I walked to the Musallah. So, anyone with two braincells to rub a good pair of eyes can see I'm not trying to 'hide' anything and walking in to catch up on Maghrib. Yet, I was still approached as if I didn't belong there, in the committee member's words, 'can I help you...', It's fair enough that the masjid is private property and they can make their rules, and I'm sympathetic that Muslims have been vilified in the media in recent years - but where are the signs saying there's no photography allowed? Or was I simply 'picked out' for not looking like the typical attendees? If there's no signage to state 'no photography', why was I approached in such a rude manner as a congregant who came for Salah? There was no indication this isn't allowed - bearing in mind I've attended this masjid many times and my family regularly attend here too. Granted afterwards the same brother approached me and changed his tone explaining why they don't want photos taken inside. But please train your committee members to be professional. This has been an unfortunate experience at the masjid. As long as you're an old Asian man, you'll be fully welcomed here. This masjid has been relegated to be treated like the living room of old South Asian men with nothing better to do all day. Remember that the Masjid is owned by Allah and exists for the community, not select committee members and the same old men. Maybe the Masjid should have an open day to meet some new people, or at least send their committee members back to Madrassah.
I love this place. It's not only beautiful, it's also spacious and you'll get a free space easily. The staff are lovely and very friendly. They do care about guidelines for the COVID 19. It's nice when the sealing fans are turned on, I loved it.
A lovely welcoming, warm and friendly Islamic center in the heart of Roath, Cardiff. They have many facilities including teaching for children and adults. Five times prayer facilities. A very large hall for events and a wash facility for the deceased. Its large enough to comfortably accommodate a few thousand people. with kitchen facilities in case of local events that require catering as well. I truly recommended this as a lovely place to pray and learn about islam. The local respected imam and brothers in charge are very knowledgeable and welcoming as well. Thanks from Buhir a local to this Masjid.
Masha Allah beautiful masjid and it was very nice and clean. I was travelling by and read juma there.
MashaAllah. Beautiful well maintain Masjid.
Tidy and peaceful, good local location. I go there after work to pray Asr, coz it stays open between Asr and Maghreb
