The price was the issue for me. We ate in and to charge £11 for fish & chips and £11 for a baked potato & chilli is over the top for "a chippy" style cafe. The food is OK but think they are taking advantage as other restaurants are fully booked due to the current COVID-19 restrictions.
Excellent fish & chips....portions are generous but what really made it was the quality of the batter. It was just the right consistency and cooked so that all of the batter was crispy and not soggy. We have fish & chips about every six weeks and, I have to say, this was the best meal I've had in years. Well done, Maddy's
Been going here since I was 6. 12 years later and it's still the best in Ilfracombe. Service is fast and everyone is lovely :
