The initial welcome was a little cool, especially when we informed the greeter we hadn't booked, but required a table for two.nA table was found for us, which we were led to, before being informed it was table service only, as we were handed a menu.nWe were not too surprised to see so few clientele following the brusque introduction, but were pleased when the server arrived with a smile and happily took our order.nDrinks arrived promptly and courteously, but unfortunately one of the ales ordered was not at its best.nThe meals were again delivered in good time and with a smile, before being asked if we required anything else.nThe food was outstanding, and we were pleased to see as we ate our meals, the venue began to steadily fill with clients.nBy the time we finished and were ready to leave, we were happy to see the majority of tables were occupied, which made it appear quite busy, and felt more like a Friday or Saturday than a mid week evening.nThe service and attitude of all the staff was also much friendlier and welcoming than our initial entrance, so would ultimately recommend this place and we look forward to returning again.
Party of 6, food was great, table service not so great, booked in for 1pm, really wanted a later sitting but advised that the table was only available from 3:30-5 so took the earlier booking. Drinks and food ordered after a short wait, didn't have to wait too long for our pies.. Plates taken away after finishing our meals and asked if everything was OK, to which we replied it was.. We chatted and discussed having a pudding and another round of drinks.. No sign of our server so unable to grab her attention.. After approx 30 minutes my wife went to the bar to ask for some service, to which our server returned but advised us our table was booked for 3pm and as it was now 2:50 we couldn't have a pudding at our table but more than welcome to eat outside, and she thought she had asked if we wanted any puddings when clearing the plates away, but not one of us heard her. We would have quite happily ordered at the bar ourselves but advised on arrival it was table service. Also advised on arrival that they had a few parties leave without paying, so required a credit/debit card swiping, to prevent this happening.. I can fully understand now why people would just get up and leave..nNo tip and missed out on 6 deserts and 6 more drinks.nWould happily return for the food but drop the table only service or ask the servers to be more attentive
Amazing place to visit and the pie's are unbelievably delicious.I tried the Tyson Fury Pie loads of brisket and a good gravy. And my partner had the Minted Lamb Pie which was packed with Lamb & Gravy.nEnjoyed every bite. If you like your Pie's you will not be disappointed. Highly recommend.nWe will be back to enjoy more pie's.nThe staff are very helpful and give a great service and the venue is fascinating. Highly Recommend.
Great experience, never know what to expect until your meal arrives which is very filling for the price. Will definitely visit again. The character and the theme memorabilia of the black country gave it the authentic look. Fantastic staff service
Feeling hungry go for a desperate dan pie I loved mine. Our friends had other pies with chips, which they said was lovely. The pub is an old style black country pub so much character to it, we will be going again.
