Surprisingly complete as it's in a town, but there's not a great deal to see. There is some work going on so there is scaffolding up.
Nice old ruined castle in the centre of Kirkcudbrightshire. There’s not a huge amount to do or see there but it’s worth checking out and is easily accessible

A small castle in the middle of a beautiful town.
Nice castle, had quite a bit of scaffolding due to conservation work but was still worth visiting. Particularly liked the display in the kitchen.
Visited with the family and we loved it, lots of scaffolding up for essential repairs but doesn't distract too much. Friendly staff too, if you like this sort of thing then it's well worth a visit.
We couldnt get into the castle as it wss closed no notice on the historic app about it being closed it only said the first floor
Cool place pity about the scaffolding....
