We came to Mackie Mayor for food and drinks before heading to a concert at the COOP arena. We came in a big group of up to 13 people at lunchtime, and we found seats on the upper floors and were impressed by the stunning interior design! Mackie Mayor is a food hall composed of several different vendors - with a huge range of options from tacos to burgers it is great for large groups with a huge range of choices. My personal highlights were the fried chicken with buffalo sauce. Also, the beer selection was amazing with the mango IPA tasting amazing! I would recommend it to anyone in the local area.
We visited Mackie Mayor only once while in Manchester but I wish we'd gone more - there's so much great food and drinks to choose from! I went for a fried chicken and curry burger which came in a small unassuming plate but was utterly juicy, just the right amount of spicy and honestly quite fantastic. I loved the system in place: you pick anything you want and say your table number when placing the order, so once your meal is done, it's brought directly to you! No need to stand in a queue and carry plates around. Really thoughtful! There's also a free water station where you can pick up a bottle and glasses and take to your table. Cards accepted. Vegetarian options: Vegetarian and vegan options available! Wheelchair accessibility: Steps at the entrance and the toilets are on the upper floor.
I feel like I could eat here a hundred times yet I’d never get bored of it. There’s such variety in the dishes you can order, and so many different places to eat in the courtyard that you could try something new every day and never run out! It has a very rustic and communal feel, with the forks and napkins on the benches so you can share. It just feels so… comfy and cosy.
Mackie Manor is a breath of fresh air, full of character and style. I had the chilli fried eggs more sweet than spicy, a flat white and cinnamon swirl. The staff were very friendly and the food and drink was delicious! I will definitely be coming back next time I visit Manchester.Food: 5/5
We love this place, our fourth visit and the second time this weekend. Dined here on Friday evening and Sunday lunch time. Had thai food both occasions and weren't disappointed. Has lots of varied fast food caterers around the ground floor, as well as a micro brewery and a wine stall. It gets very busy but has a great atmosphere and all the food can be ordered via an app and brought to you. I believe the wine can also be ordered this way but not the beer.
The Food is Unreal!! What an amazing, independent modern food market. I’ve never heard of this place before, but I have not stopped talking to everyone about this spectacular place! Lunch times is very busy, yet the questionable thing is they locked the upstairs area from anyone sitting up there. Food: 5/5
Was here with some colleagues for a social. It’s a very lively place for a Tuesday to hangout for drinks or eat. There’s something for all. I was surprised that l could book a table but people still took it over. We ordered burgers, Thai and pizza. Pizza took quite a while to arrive. The burgers were nicely cooked and patties not so thin. Thai dishes had a good spicy kick to it, l was impressed. Only issue l had was the prawns were powdery so not fresh. Portions were decent. Staff were helpful. Vegetarian options: A good selection Kid-friendliness: There’s something for everyone
this place was recommended to me by a friend and I have been recommending it to other friends ever since my first visit. on my first visit, i ordered the drunken noodles from Chilli B Thai. my noodles we so filling and the perfect balance between chewy and soft. i shared a side of garlic bread from Honest Crust Pizza. the meal was so delicious that i barely said a word to my friend! the second time i visited i ordered the kradpow from Chilli B Thai. the portion sizes were spot on and there was a lovely spicy kick to my meal. finally, the most recent time i ordered the vegan tantanmen from New Wave Ramen/Taiko Ramen. i was initially unsure but after one spoonful of the broth, i was so happy. the noodles were lovely and soft and there was a nice level of spice and heat to the ramen - you could still taste all the flavour. i also liked the ratio of broth to noodles however there was only one decent sized tofu slice which didn’t ruin the meal but i had expected some additional smaller slices. ive visited this foodhall during the week, on a friday evening and for a late lunch on saturday and every single trip has been a really good experience with such good food. ten out of ten !! Dietary restrictions: as someone who has a severe dairy allergy, i thought allergens are so clearly labelled for each and every food item - both in person and on the online order site. you can also leave notes for each food vendor that you order from and the staff are so helpful! safe and streamline process !
Great place, wide array of food choices. Service was great too. Most if not all are card only, so make sure to bring that with you. Would definitely come back as it is good for both solo visitors and group of friends.Food: 5/5
Had hot honey wings and Korean wings from Mumma's Fried Chicken. Despite the place not being busy when we ordered, we still waited ages for our food. The texture of the meat was off, tasting not fresh and rather lifeless. The wings were dry. We used to enjoy their wings, which were delicious in the past, but our recent two visits have been disappointing. The food hall is lovely and the atmosphere is good. We'll be trying other stalls next time.
