We only ate here, and it was delicious. The staff were very chatty and efficient. They could afford to give a few more peas, not sure why one of your 5 a day are served in the tiniest of ramekins about 16 peas Service: 5/5
Excellent hotel, very quiet considering location. Food excellent, staff polite and professional. Made a business trip very comfortable.Rooms: 5/5
Nice family run hotel with comfortable rooms and a pleasant restaurant. A good overnight stop in a sadly care-worn town. The owners made us welcome. The restaurant was good. The food well cooked, presented and served. A good stop on the starting leg of the NC500.
Seems to sum up Wick really. Tired and dated, smelt of chip fat up the stairs, small rooms, toilet dirty and hadn’t been cleaned properly, owner’s dog growled aggressively at any dog who walked in, staff weren’t massively helpful. Wick itself is a tired, desolate and forgotten place and this hotel is a fairly depressing experience.
Stayed her on the Romantic break offer. Great value. We stayed in room 14 which was lovely and clean, comfy, river view. Loved the dram in the room! All the staff were really attentive and friendly. The food was amazing. Fresh, varied menu, both dinner and breakfast was good. Who does mot enjoy dining on the world's smallest street! The hotel is in the centre of Wick with lots of parking. Thank you team for making my husbands birthday treat so special! Will be back and defo recommend.
We did not stay overnight as we were camping nearby, we went for an evening meal. We found the food superb , could not fault at all ! The service was very good and the owners were present at all times and extremely friendly, our dogs were made to feel welcome as were we Would highly recommend and will hopefully return Many thanks to Murray and Ellie for an enjoyable evening Heather & Richard
Arrived a little late for lunch, no problems . God food and service.Service: 5/5
Central location. Street parking. Bistro Bar restaurant entered from shortest street in the world. Bistro Bar is modern and busy and associated dining room is more traditional and spacous. Very helpful friendly staff and excellent food using local produce. Best meal yet in November 2023. Superb! New kitchen team have cracked it. Still great February 2024.
I can't rate your rooms Location good Service OMG, how shocking I've been in this industry, and it's very hard to make sure your guests are happy well feed waiter Sam. How shocking sold the specials to me, so we were told the catch of the day was cod. I love cod if it's cooked, right? It came out pink, not raw, but salmon, we called Sam over to complain I don't like salmon. I wouldn't have ordered this for no 1. He admitted he told me the wrong fish by accident, that's fine. we all make mistakes right. We ordered a burger from the specials, nothing to write home about, and nothing guest ordered 2 other meals before mine arrived. 1 been the burger, so why it wasn't cooked at the same time. It's totally and unprofessional. I didn't want to kick a problem, so I left it got back to our van and called the hotel. The lady who looked to own the hotel or managed it didn't give toot
I've given a 3 star today feeling my review might be fair. So my husband booked this trip for us to stay in an apartment, asked for a ground floor as I do have mobility issues. We got told its on 1st floor. So we agreed as I do do 1 flight at home with a struggle. On checking the owners greeted us, then she said its 3rd floor. OK not happy that we have traveled many many miles to get here. They did try to accommodate by putting us in a cottage. The beds aren't comfy, the kitchen smelt of burning which was traveling downstairs, 1 sofa sinks when you sit on it, flies not many but they are there, to this felt disappointed, in the end we checked out to be told non refundable. I get that, if there wasn't a mistake on their part, they could of given a good will gesture considering its moto is a hotel with a heart. Now we are traveling back and staying at inverness as theres non available in wick. I get she tried her best but on the otherhand could of given us a goodwill. UPDATE - I was a bit hasty in saying no refund. We actually got the refund, so I've updated my review stars to 4.
