Story

Mackay & Stewart as a company was established in 1974 by Mr Ewan Mackay! Previous to this, Ewan left school at the tender age of 15 years to embark on a career, in the manufacture and traditional design of handmade kilts, and Highland wear. Over the years, Ewan has accrued a vast knowledge of the history of kiltmaking and its design, as well as its uses. This aquired knowledge and skills are now!! at present being handed down to a new generation of craftsmen/women and kiltmakers, individuals who take the greatest of pride in their craftsmanship and expertise. We have over 250 different tartans to select: From The Anderson Tartan to the Spirit of Scotland Tartan. We also have new modern tartans such as the Kennedy & Kerr. A large range of kilt accessories are also available which include: Sgian Dubhs, Sporrans, Buckles, Kilt Pins, Plaid Brooches, Belts and a range of kilt jackets, waistcoats, vests, trousers and trews. You will be surprised at our prices compared to others in the market place.
