Terrible reception and dispensing staff, have no compassion for people with mental health. I have moved area because if the impact they had on my health, It was like being Bullied at school again.
Excellent doctors, nurses and other staff members. Can not fault their approach to directly helping with your medical issues and pushing forward with both diagnosis and treatments. However, the time wasted in the waiting room and trying to call up is frustrating and in some cases, horrific and has been like that for a little while now. I have yet to be seen for an appointment without at least a 15 minute delay, a recent appointment for my daughter was 1 hour and 20 minutes late without update or reason, which is unacceptable. To even get into the queue on the phone takes 2 minutes and 35 seconds of listening to the same old drivel, most of it not applicable to the majority of patients. Some serious attention needs to be given to waiting times and their phone line automated waffle, I.E, reducing the time on both areas. It would also be useful to have an app that has the functions that many other surgeries across the border or in bigger towns have. To be able to see your test results both past and present and recent medical history would be incredibly useful, and, mostly cut down on the number of patients calling the surgery for results etc. Once again the actual doctors and staff at the surgery are fantastic, they’re doing the best they can with the tools they have been given, the admin and digital capabilities given to them are not so great.
Helpfully staff easy to get appointments same day
I have been hospitalised three times due to serious ongoing health issues since last September. The GPs, receptionists, nurses, support workers an pharmacy could not have been any more supportive at Mach Medical Centre. They are fantastic in my opinion. I feel very blessed to live in this area.
Phenomenal practice. Best service I have ever received. I was on holiday with my children and got registered as a temporary patient and seen immediately. Very friendly and professional staff who actually care. Thank you for your prompt assistance and care it is very much appreciated.
Always helpful, and with patience you get to see who you need to see, or get whatever is needed done. The health centre is under a lot of pressure due to a large patient list and low GP staffing levels. Rural practices are hanging in there, we would be lost without them. x
Shocking service , Shame wouldn't even attempt to see a member of my family , we later had to take them to casualty , turns out they had a serious infection. Official complaint will be made. Useless and arrogant.
Receptionists are always very friendly and helpful, as are the doctors and nurses. Times often over run but I think that is true of most practices. After 4 years of rude receptionists and rushed unhelpful appointments in London, moving back to the area and having Mach as my local health centre is brilliant Certainly does not deserve the low rating
I tried for 8 weeks last summer to get an appointment. The 'specially trained triage' receptionist deemed I didn't require one. Used to be at Cemmaes Road where service and care was paramount. Machynlleth is not only a dull and dreary place, but the 'professional' staff aren't. They are rude and inefficient. It was suggest I move to another surgery! Sadly my husband still attends and I have to collect his prescriptions, which 9 times out of 10 aren't either ready after 4 days or are incomplete and I'm requested to return the following day. I live around 13-14 miles away! The most common phrase used is, are you popping into town tomorrow? Not exactly a 'pop' is it? Can't comment on the doctors, didn't ever get to see one. Sadly I'm unable to give less than one star.
I came to use the travel clinic. It took three weeks to get an appointment after which my form didn’t seem to have been processed at all. When I arrived, they informed me they couldn’t do anything for me as I was a temporary patient and hadn't even bought the necessary injections in. The nurse I saw was incredibly rude and aggressive about my medical history despite it being irrelevant to my appointment and was not at all apologetic about the surgery’s massive oversight. Apart from the one receptionist I saw on the day-the rest seem to follow their own rules as three separate ones gave me different information and failed to follow through on their assurance that they would have the injections when I arrived. I was told that if they did not contact me beforehand, then there was no problem with my appointment. They might as well discontinue this service if some simple paperwork is too hard for them and is not processed prior to the patient coming. In short, I was treated rudely, had a month of my time wasted and the injections I needed are now unlikely to work as it is too close to the time of departure thanks to this disorganised, negligent place.
