The older lady with short hair and glasses who works on the self checkouts seriously needs some lessons on manners and customer service. I regularly use this store and every single time she has been incredibly rude and abrupt. Talk about service with a smile. Was speaking to another customer on the checkout next to me and she also said everytime she’s come in she’s been rude with her also!! Management needs to seriously have some words with her!!
Excellent shop for food as it has different kind of fruit that only M&S have, such as envy apple. I like it nI like the shop's atmosphere. It makes me feel comfortable walking around the shop. The staff are kind and helpful
This is a lovely little M&S Simply Food in the heart of Beverley, very close to Wednesday Market and a 5 minute walk from Beverley Minster.nIt does have its own smallish carpark but there are other parking areas close by. I don’t use the carpark as I have always either walked in across the Westwood or parked further away.nFor such a small store it has a pretty good range of products including a free from area, really good fruit and vegetables, chilled and frozen goods and there’s even an instore bakery, magazine section and flowers and plants.nThere’s a good size cafe just by the front entrance and this is usually pretty busy.nSadly it’s no longer possible to buy clothes there but if you order online your order can be delivered to the store.nMany of the food prices are very similar to the main supermarkets so although I’ve never done a full shop there lots of people do! I find thatnI’m buying more of their gf items, fruit and veg and now get almost all of my eggs from there.nRecommended!nEdit November 2024: I hadn’t previously mentioned the toilet facilities which are unisex and with disabled access.nThese are handy but often quite pungent; I’m sure there used to be a mobile baby changing unit which could be used in the 2 larger wheelchair/pushchair accessible toilets, however this was nowhere in sight when young mums visited earlier today.
Had a jacket potato with cheese.it came with a very nice salad..the potato was luke warm the butter would not melt. There was very little potato to eat with the salad as the skin was rock hard and not edible...very disappointed...so dry cheese salad basically...yet my grandson had bacon ciabatta which was streaky bacon and a milkshake he enjoyed his.
M and S so very reliable. Parking is tight, you pay on entry to the store and are reimbursed at cash out. The cafe is fine if rather functional and lacking in character. The food and drink, as you would expect are good.nnMy favourite deal is the Cream Tea. You get a lovely scone plain or fruit with clotted cream and strawberry jam plus a drink such as the excellent pot of tea or a good-sized cup of tasty coffee with hot milk for £4. Smashing value! If you want to try something a bit different, smoothies and frappes are available at £3 or iced coffee at £2.75.nnNote also that free WIFI is available.
