Bought some mouldy cheese back today even though date was until mid next month. It was an own branded m&s product not generic cheese but despite this the ‘manager’ insisted he could only refund/exchange it if i had receipt. Luckily i randomly kept a few of the receipts from when i’ve shopped there previously & was refunded. However if i’d not kept the receipt, the so called manager would not have used any common sense / discretion & would not have received the refund. It wasn’t a lot of money but on a principle basis found it to be disgusting customer service & I implore others to keep their receipts! Not even an apology from him! The 2 lady staff members i was in contact with were very apologetic & displayed empathy & as such will return on that basis.nManager needs some SERIOUS customer service training!!! Date of visit mid day 17 oct 24.
Have to admit to thinking they'd be better allocating the space within the store to something else. Time has, however proved me wrong on this rare occasion, as the Cafe appears to be quite popular, despite the proximity of other coffee establishments. Decent cup of coffee, and of course the cakes, being their own, are excellent. Also tends to be child free, which is very much a bonus;-

Visited the Mere Green Foidhall to return an order. It was only one item of a large order which had arrived in a big cardboard box. As the box was too large to carry on the bus, my return was in the original polythene wrapping and I had put it in a white plastic bag and wrapped it up. The assistant told me it should be in the original packing it had arrived in. I explained the box was too big to carry on the bus and she said it doesn't matter lt should be in the original packaging. I told her she was being really offensive. I am a senior citizen and five foot tall, there was no way I could have carried the large box. She relented in the end and accepted my return order, but I was made to feel very uncomfortable. Disgraceful customer service.
I went in today to buy some easter treats for family then went and paid for items then on the way out I had a quick look at the flowers for my mother and was shouted at by a member of staff with shoulder length blond hair randomly asking if I have paid for my food In my bag my receipt was in my bag with the goods the the staff member started shouting at me waving her hand in the air shouting thief thief totally overreacting I got my receipt and waved it in her face and demanded an apology she told me to f off I know her she has always been a horrible lady to me and I have reported her
