Just popped in to get a frozen pizza. No complaints, although you are pressured to use the card-only self-service tills. I prefer to be served by a person and to pay in cash.
Really annoyed today with the Chorley branch. I went in with a one for all gift card that I had been given for my birthday, thought I would treat myself for tea. Got my items and went to the self service till. My card wouldn’t work so someone else tried on a computer they had at the side of the tills. The lady said that I only had £10 on it so I said that I had £15. Lady said that they couldn’t help me. I rang one for All who told me that I definitely had £15 on it. I decided to go the Bolton branch. Went in, picked the same items up, went nervously to the till, she swiped it, it worked first time, paid the difference and off I went.nnThey obviously haven’t got a clue at Chorley!!
Not happy with comments by a member of staff who came to till after rearranging a shelf suggesting we might use the self service. We pay M&S prices for service not expecting to try to manage trollies at self check out and at our age of 84 and 89 we appreciate kindness and consideration. Not forthcoming that day which is unusual.
Went in 4.30ish, member of staff was putting reduced labels on today's stock. I wanted a sandwich which had today's date on, asked if he'd be reducing it, he said, ,'I will when I get up to it but can't reduce it on demand', and then proceeded to move away further down the aisle. I did some other shopping and then came back. Eventually he got round to putting a sticker on it after keeping us waiting. I was with my disabled daughter. To add insult to injury when I got to the till it came up as full price, if I hadn't checked my receipt I wouldn't have known. Very poor customer service.
