First time customer. I was very impressed by how bright and clean this chip shop was. Food was absolutely delicious and well worth the money. Plenty of staff and they were really professional. Will definitely be buying from here again. To be able to dine in would be really good. Only downside, is if you're a single person the portion sizes are quiet large and an option of just a cone of chips would be excellent.

05/21 EDIT Kudos to the management here for moving to environmentally friendly cardboard containers. Tasty, cheap food & friendly service. Proper local chippy that's been part of the community for over 80 years. The shop's been refitted and changed at least twice in my time but the service and quality of the food have both remained fantastic. Good choice of food. Generous portions. Always hot. Never had a bad meal from here.

"I recently had the pleasure of visiting Ruddy's fish and chips shop and I must say, it was batter than expected! The fish was perfectly flaky and the chips were crispy and flavorful. But the real surprise for me were the chicken nuggets - they were clucking amazing! I could tell they were made with real chicken and cooked to perfection. To sum it up, Ruddy's is definitely a plaice you want to visit for some finger-licking good food. Don't be shellfish, bring your friends and family and enjoy a meal that's sure to make you smile!"

Our go-to! Really nice fish and chips compared to others we have tried, portion sizes are good, bit on the pricier side but the taste makes up for it : Parking: Small car park out front.

Was very disappointed, lots of people say how good it is so thought we would try it out, asked for a large portion of chips, there was nothing large about this compared to other chippy's in the area, the large chips came in a smaller box than the sausages did? sausages seemed over cooked as well looked like they had been there for quite a while? service was ok and everything social distancing so happy about that, just disappointed on the portion size for the price.

The good was awesome. Although pricey, for the quality of food and portion size it was mire then worth it. Will definitely use again.

Paid £12.50 for a large chips and a giant cod. The giant cod was made up mostly of batter led on a bed of oil and small crispy scraps of potato. Really disappointed with this. The only consolation was how polite and well mannered the old gent who serves people is.

Has Ruddy's been bought out? I noticed the packaging has changed and the quality tonight was appalling. Greasy tasteless fish and chips stuck to packaging. What a shame, they were always so reliable.

Monday fish supper was awesome. Previous visit was decent but this was another level. And huge portions, you have been warned!!
