Absolutely amazing place. We’ve been here about four times already and it’s wonderful. You’ve got toilets and loads of parking spaces. The beach is wow and the sand is super fine and soft. A bit windy but would recommend checking the place. Check out the town center also!
What a beautiful beach. Its quite but really accessible from the carpark which is 90p for an hour. Their are steps to get down to the beach. It's dog friendly. after September till May all day. In the summer, only before 8am and after 6pm. When low tide the sea is a good walk away nut the sand is flat and you can walk all the way out. Definitely a lovely way to spend a few hours but wellies are a good idea The pier is home to multiple businesses that sell food ans drinks. It was our young dogs 1st time on a beach and she loved it. The sea was really far out so we got to enjoy a lot of space before we reached the sea. There were lots of poo bins dotted around the edge of the beach too which was good. We will definitely be coming back.
Love coming here for a walk along sand, it's always clean and litter free. The areas that allow dogs is also clean and I've majority of people keep their dogs on leads or the dogs stay with their owners. We bring the grandchildren and they love coming with their bikes, kites and bucket/spade. There are some lovely little cafes along the front that sell great snacks, fish and chips, ice cream and coffee, all the usual and not bad prices
Beautiful clean beach and stunning views across to Southport and beyond to Wales. Sunset was divine. Have never been here before as we've always stopped at Blackpool. Decided to explore here and it was worth it. What a charming place. We'll definitely come back in the summer.
Wonderful sandy wide stretching beach. Golden sand is clean and safe. When the tide is out the sand stretches for, safe to walk just be aware of turning tides. The beach is great for dog walking, but stay away from the area around the pier as this is public area, I think no dogs awolled in summer. There is an interesting pier with an additional part which is no longer part of the pier but is of historical interest. The kite festival in summer is well worth a visit, but parking is difficult.
Visit the beach with my dog most days and tend to walk North. I love the vast space and its always a great adventure for my dog. In the main it is always clean and dog walkers clean up their dog poop. Lovely place!
Lovely gem of a place. Great free parking and lovely walks. Promenade Gardens are very lovely to walk around and kept very tidy. Pier was excellent and lovely coffee shops. Will definitely be coming back for a visit
We used to park along one of the main roads around the beach but since they widened the walk way and removed parking spaces we park closer to the beach, overall it is better and safer for cars and people. We walk our dog here atleast once a month and there are toilets and cafe near by so perfect spot, parking is free late at night.
A good large beach with a traditional pier that had an arcade, chips etc and I've creams etc. The local shopping area is close by and the promenade is a nice walk. There's also a cinema and pub that serves food close to the beach area. Overall a nice place to visit for a few days at least. If you want more, then Blackpool is just a couple of miles up the road.
