The food was tasty, pretty good service, and the atmosphere was nice but busy. Got in just before lunch rush I can see why this place has so many reviews, just based on how busy it got Vegetarian options: Had a small veggie/vegan section on the menu which was good, I had a jacket potato with bean chilli which was tasty
Avoid rush hour we went there at 2pm seemingly crowded. Honestly I think it was a bit overrated. Food was OK. The avocado on toast was no match with Gail’s. Ham & Cheese toasties and chicken nuggets were mediocre. However the portions were of good sizes. One male waiter was particularly loud though I am sure he was just being passionate about his job but his loudness was really borderline uncomfortable especially for young kids. We just want a comfortable family dining experience but this “tea house” was really loud and food was average despite the generous sizes of portion.
A lively spot right in the middle of Lyndhurst high street; a very random find and I walked in simply because it was almost packed during lunch hours which is a good sign! And I wasn’t disappointed, great vibe inside mostly locals I guess, food options were simple but plenty and I tried my first Welsh/ Lyndhurst rarebit.. didn’t know what to expect so what I ate was good. Enjoyed a nice cuppa after alongside a lovely warm scone with clotted cream and strawberry preserve. Service was all right. Overall a very good experience.
Lovely village tea rooms. Very friendly staff and we were seated promptly. Nice varied menu and food was served not long after ordering. Jacket potato was delicious and my wife had a breakfast which she enjoyed. Tempting looking cakes too! We will return!Food: 5/5
The Panini was OK and the tuna sandwich was pretty good. It took over a half hour to get our food.Food: 4/5
I was gifted a voucher for Xmas so I chose this tea house to visit. Was not disappointed! The staff are friendly and welcoming, attentive but not over the top : The food was amazing! The posh afternoon tea is well worth the money! Being able to choose your own sandwich and change drink options is a big bonus! The tea house was clean and tidy despite it being busy, the staff didn’t stop. Highly recommend a visit if you’re in Lyndhurst. We will definitely be back : 5* There is plenty of parking just behind the tea room. Parking: Huge car park just behind the tea room and good price.
