This place is a ghost town. Wish we hadn’t bothered visiting, as there’s hardly anything here worth visiting for anymore, and the parking is no longer free upon validation of a purchase receipt. Furthermore, customer services are useless! We put cash into one of the children’s rides near the car park pay machines, and the machine didn’t work. When I visited customer services, they already knew about it, and pretty much just shrugged it off like they were sick of hearing about it with a comment about “oh have you put money in it too”. They claimed they couldn’t do anything to help other than suggest I email the company that runs them. They wouldn’t entertain my suggestion of turning the machine off or putting a sign on it.nTo top it off, the overpriced car park was completely unlit when we exited to the car. Not very safe for families with young children.nnWon’t be visiting this place again until it’s been flattened and turned into something a bit more appealing.
Interesting, but a little let down. The Quay is great for relaxing even with a chance of a river cruise. The lowry over looks the quay with the bar restaurant.nBBC and ITV studios very interesting with statues scatted around such as pudsy.nThe media city shopping complex very disappointing. 2 floors bottom floor has outlets, next, m&s etc shocking stock in both. Upstairs a mini food hall and shock every shop closed and left except 2 and Clinton cards are closing in a few weeks time.nLittle advice: just go aiming for the media side, lowry and just relaxing and a nice drink and meal in the quayside bar/restaurant or nandos. You won't be disappointed.
Had a day at Salford Quays and really enjoyed it. The whole area was very clean, very easy to get around and had a nice relaxed feel. Even though it was a Saturday we didn't feel rushed. The actual quay side was very modern and the apartments weren't tower blocks. As we were leaving, about 5pm to get home, about a 3hr journey, the lights came on and their reflection on the water was lovely
Great place needs more shops and better signpost took ages to find toilet
I have already written a review for the Lowry Outlet Mall as this place is known locally so apologies if I’m repeating myself.nI walk here most days as it is a very pleasant walk through Media City to get here.nThe Mall itself is smaller than the nearby Trafford Centre however that is part of its charm. It is far less busy for one thing and for a second you can pick up some real bargains.nThere is an M&S, NEXT and CREW clothing shops as well as many others.nThere are some health food shops, charity shops and several cafes including a CSTA Coffee.nUpstairs there is a food hall with a seating area. There’s a Harry Ramsden’s fish and chips, a Burger King and Tandoori Delights which is my favourite. There are others too.nDownstairs there is a new Street Food hall called Kargo Market with many food stalls, seating and a bar serving alcoholic drinks.nOpposite Kargo Market there is a nice restaurant from 7 brothers called 11 Central which I have done a separate review for.nThere is a great cinema too!.nThere is a car park in the mall and there are tram and bus links to the areanThanks for reading
