Well that was a pleasant experience, I lost my car on account of a drunk driver, saw a copy of what I`d lost on the SMT site but it was way up Country, spoke to Paul and explained I was going through insurance and waiting for a payout, Paul offered me to deposit £500.00 and they`d wait until my end was sorted, all went well, they reserved the car for me for a couple of weeks, I sourced the funds but then had the decision of how to collect the car, No problem, Ricky arranged transport and the car was dropped off at my door, Always a worry when you buy a car off the net without seeing it in the flesh, but no worries, car has exceeded my expectations, fully serviced and MOT`d on sale, SMT obviously hand pick the vehicles they sell, I cannot fault the help and service I received from Paul and Ricky, so pleased I happen to chance find SMT on the net, Beautiful car in stunning condition, thanks chaps, really appreciated 10/10 for service 10/10 for quality, One very happy motorist here :
I had no idea SMT existed until I saw their advert for an MX-5, online. The garage is on a country lane in the middle of no-where, north of Tring, but well worth a trip. Highly recommended. Paul, the salesman, put me at ease straight away. No hard sell here. We had a chat about motorbikes I rode my bike there, then he showed me around the car, and pretty much left me to it. I was given a nice long test drive and plenty of time to think whether the car was for me. Paul said if I wanted the car, great, but if I didn’t, no problem. I did, so we did the paperwork in his comfortable office over a good cup of coffee. It’s worth noting that there’s no wiggle room on prices. On collection day, I was offered a lift from Tring Station, but the 3 mile walk along the canal to the garage felt like being on holiday. The complementary bottle of red was a nice touch, too. I can’t comment on how well the warranty works and hope I’ll never need to make a claim. All SMT’s cars seemed to be very fairly priced, and prepared to the same very high standard regardless of value. Every car there was clean and ready to go. The general feel of the garage is that it’s well looked after by people who want to work there. I could imagine next time I wanted a new car thinking “I wonder what cars Paul has at the moment?”
What a pleasure it was viewing and buying a car from SMT Automotive. A very professional , friendly and welcoming garage. Customer service was totally notch and the whole experience was seemless. I had my 15month old son with me when I went to view my car , I was so worried he was going to be an annoyance to the garage , when in actual fact it was completly the opposite. Thankyou for being so welcoming and hospitable. I'd also like to thank Paul personally for your service and care throughout the process , it was a pleasure to meet you and thankyou for the car! Don't let any prior judgment of a car garage enter your thoughts before going here , they are a cut above the rest!
What a friendly and surprisingly easy going way to buy a car ! Such a positive experience that I've recommended SMT to a few friends already, Paul the main salesman was relaxed and non-pressurising at all, made me feel confident that I wasn't being coerced or bullied into something I wasn't sure about, the standard of service was beyond reproach and any questions about the vehicle were comprehensibly answered and upon collection the car was beautifully presented and I was made fully aware of the warranty that came free with the purchase. A thoroughly enjoyable way of buying a car and highly recommended for anyone if you're looking for a quality used vehicle.
Drove two hours to visit the showroom based on all the reviews and we weren’t disappointed! Paul made us very welcome, no pressure at all to buy, just good solid advice and the car we bought was everything it was advertised to be. Recently purchased a Peugeot, I can highly recommend this garage. The salesman was friendly and knowledgable everything was explained clearly and in plain English without sales patter. I would certainly use this garage again, although a little off the beaten track it is advertised a small family run business well worth supporting.
I was looking for a replacement for our second family car and got more than I expected for my budget. Sanjay and Ricky were incredibly friendly, efficient and knowledgeable and it's obvious they really care about the cars they sell. Thoroughly recommend to anyone in the area.

He has a refreshing approach and let's you view a car at your own pace, answers all questions and exceeded on what was agreed. He went above and beyond with ensuring the car was in excellent condition, supplying a full years MOT and service before my purchase. His communication was excellent throughout the sale and nothing was too much trouble.
