As a coldish mid march day not a lot about.
Would advise taking binoculars . a pleasent walk around never the less. Coffee and cake wad nice before departing

A lovely walk, beautiful sights of birds from the numerous hides, very relaxing sounds: bird calls, rippling river, and the fresh smells.

Lovely walk with sightings of the river, suitable for pushchair, peaceful. Good for the dog, must be kept on lead. Coffee shop staffed by friendly volunteers.

The Nature Watch event that takes place on the first Saturday of each month is geared up for children aged up to 11 years .The event is run by well qualified individuals who do a fantastic job of organising varied events, each of which are delivered in a fun way. Topics such as pond dipping, mammals, migration, birds of prey and much more including field trips to Seaham for rock pooling and to Middleton in Teesdale for nature focused activities. Small fee per child (£1) Well worth a visit.

Great place the lady in reception was very friendly and helpful lots of wildlife to see this was my first visit and I will be definitely be going back
