For a brunch today I headed to a well popular spot called the lounge, ate here a couple times in the past so thought we give it another go.nnToday I ordered a Shakshouka with hashbrowns and jalapeños with a fresh orange and lemonade.nnShakshouka had a very deep rounded tomato base as expected pretty rich with a nice depth to it, but I would say it lacked that side note of the peppers and any aroma or flavour of garlic, was kinda flat on any other flavour then tomato. The eggs were cooked to perfection runny centre, nice fresh eggs with that creamy yolk. Standard hashbrown nothing too crispy about them which always saddens me, crispy and saltier the better right?nnNice super fresh orange juice mixed with lemonade always hits the spot, I would also add the little touch of crispy chickpeas were nice running through the dish.nnBut for a staggering £18+ for this meal I have to say it’s a bit steep for the quality of food I ate today. Look it’s not the worst I’ve had it just lacked things that I think price point should have, if I payed £10/12 all in for this meal I wouldn’t be as harsh.nnToday I score it 6/10 overall.
I am a regular here and it's always great!nFood is good, menu has all the greats ? Eggs benedict, pancakes, morroccan eggs.nThe drinks selection is awesome - their shakes are nice and thick, and their frappe delicious, I really like their iced coffees especially if you add French Vanilla syrupnService is swift.nOutdoor tables are nice in the sun.nThe decor is quirky.
Had a fantastic brunch at the Lounge in Bristol. Great service, girls could not have been nicer. Quality fry up! Would highly recommend.
The original and best possibly of the Lounges. They do Hofmeister but it tastes like the proper German stuff and not the watered down English version from the 80s 'follow the bear'
We came in morning and grabbed a brunch: I picked the pancakes w/ bacons, and he picked the Lounge Breakfast!! All the food were really nice, as well as our coffee, and we were super full with this brunch! loved his bread and sausage in the breakfast. The pancake was come with maple syrup the best syrup in my mind Love this lovely place with all the vintage deco and super friendly staff!!
