Absolutely wonderful B & B to stay. The hosts Nicky & Russel are so welcoming. The place is positioned right next to the river, which is lovely to listen to at night, or anytime of the day!!!..there are plenty of beautiful places and walks to visit. The locals are very pleasant and friendly too!!.. we have just recently had a week here at this B &B. We would thoroughly recommend this place. It's a homely fantastic place to stay!!...definitely worth the 5 stars!!
I have just returned from a short break, Monday to Friday. The guest house is a wonderful example of a very comfortable and tastefully decorated late Victorian or Edwardian Hotel. It is located in a beautiful setting opposite the river. There is a veranda where you can just chill out and relax, listening to the river and drinking in the ambiance of this so picturesque place. Nicki and Russell are excellent hosts and nothing is too much trouble. They are very friendly and made every guest feel really very welcome. The food was really wonderful and varied. Nicki offers a packed lunch at a very reasonable price. Rooms are fresh, Bright and airy. I was very pleased with my stay and would have loved to have stayed longer.7 I will be back, hopefully later this summer . 10/10
The quintessentially perfect B and B. I cannot fault Russel or Nicki at any point! The house is immaculate with good parking and a stunning view down the East Lyn rover. Everything in Lynmouth is a short walk along the river and Lynton is either a walk up the main road or I highly recommend the Lynmouth and Lynton Cliff railway. The rooms are spacious, very clean and comfortable. Everything about the rooms is great! Russell's breakfasts are something to behold! Fill out the sheet on your bed of what you would like in the morning and the sheet will have your breakfast time on, go down at said time and enjoy! Everything from the locally sourced meat, the toast and coffee is outstanding! Other places I recommend visiting is the Ancient Mariner, if you are fortunate to see Russel or Nicki in there buy them a pint! Another great place in Lynmouth. All in Lorna Doone house is the best B and B in Lynmouth and Lynton hands down! We have booked in already for later in the year and next year! Rooms: Very clean, spacious and light. The beds are sublime and have been known to cause sudden deep napping! Walkability: Everything in Lynmouth is less than a 5 minute walk down the river, it is a great walk. Food & drinks: The breakfast is amazing! Nothing is too much trouble and the quality is incredible! Packed lunches are available should you require them.
Such accommodating and friendly hosts. Thank you so much Russel and Nikki. First class breakfasts and rooms perfectly clean and extremely comfortable. Russel even offered the loan if his guitar when mine was playing up at the Seacider Festival. All of this and . . . Stunning scenery, beautiful walks and a wonderful village all on the doorstep. We are definitely coming back to Lorna Doone House
A delightfully situated B&B just a short stroll from Lynmouth centre and overlooking the river at the start of the Watersmeet walk. New owners Nicky and Russell made us feel extremely welcome. Delaying our departure by three hours was no problem. Breakfasts were generous and very enjoyable as was Nicky's home cooking on our first night. Our room was large and comfortable with more than ample storage and a great view of the river. The large en-suite bathroom had an excellent shower. Very handy in the hot weather. This is a dog friendly house, but if like us you are not a dog owner rest assured that our room was spotless. I highly recommend Lorna Doone House and the very good value rates. We will be back.
Absolutely beautiful place to stay, we highly recommend. We were greeted with coffee by the most welcoming owners who ensure our comfort throughout our whole stay. Our room was very comfortable & stunning with a gorgeous view overlooking the river. Breakfast absolutely perfect, even for the most fussy vegetarian :D We'll definitely come back!
I really enjoyed my stay here, the owners were very friendly and welcoming, my room was clean and comfortable and breakfast was tasty. The location was perfect- peaceful yet close to everything and I loved going to sleep with the sound of the river!Rooms: 4/5

Visited with friend and our two dogs for 5 nights. Made so welcome by Neal and Sharon and their family. Soon felt like home. Food ..b/fasts delicious with such varied choice. Evening meals .. again very high standard, good choice and perfectly cooked. Ideal position, straight out of front door down to idyllic walks up the river and a few minutes up from beach. Comfortable rooms/bed. Lovely sitting area at front to relax in the evening sun after a days outings. Nothing too much trouble for our hosts. It's very obvious Neal and Sharon want their guests to have a fabulous holiday.. And we certainly did! Thanks so much
This is one of the places you stay once and then come back,repeatedly!! They owners are lovely,happy and chatty people and the welcome is very warm, the property is beautiful and the positioning is idyllic, as for the breakfasts,wow!! This is a dog friendly hotel,not that you would notice as it's spotless and smells lovely. The towels are fluffy and the beds are very comfortable, the photos really do not do this place justice Please don't all book as once,as this is now my hidden gem
