Good food and drink, great service and super dog friendly. We stopped in for lunch on a moment's notice while avoiding traffic on the A303. In keeping with the pristine historic village, the pub/restaurant was charming and tidy. The menu offers a good selection of pub food as well as more refined meals. I had the fried chicken bap and Laura had the beetroot soup. Both were delivered quickly and well cooked the soup was properly hot - tepid soup is a real bugbear for Laura. I highly recommend.
Came here for dinner and drinks whilst staying nearby on a weekend away. We had literally got engaged a few hours before and had this booked to celebrate afterwards. The staff were superb and made us feel really welcome and looked after us well throughout our meal and drinks, including some wine on the house for our engagement! We shared the Mac and cheese and then had the risotto and chicken burger, all of which were delicious! We also had two really tasty deserts as well! Cocktails, beers and wine were all great too. Only criticism would be that there was only one vegetarian option for a main dish, would have been nice for a few options to be available instead. In summary this is a great traditional country pub but the food is of a really high standard! Would certainly recommend a visit! I can imagine the Sunday lunch is excellent so would like to return for that one day!
Very smart and interesting pub in a beautiful village. We have eaten here twice this week as we are staying in the village. Beer is good but the food is excellent - undoubtedly the best Sunday roast I have ever had out. Would strongly recommend the Lord Poulett Arms, John and his team will take really good care of you. The staff are knowledgeable and very polite and attentive.
Superb dinner last night. Best meal I’ve had this year apart from 2 Michelin starred restaurants in France. Clearly first class ingredients cooked by exceptional chef. Friendly service and perfectly made cocktails.
We have just enjoyed a fantastic 2 night stay here with our two dogs. With Jon the landlord leading the way, every member of the team was welcoming, smiley, sociable and attentive in a very natural and easy way. Our two three course dinners and two breakfasts were delicious, great ingredients superbly cooked and presented with a very good drinks selection too. A very relaxing place to wine and dine the weekend away, thank you to all the team!
This was our third visit from a couple of trips to Somerset. The first time we came I had probably the best burger I've ever had. Last night's Rump Steak was sublime. We also had a great Sunday lunch in May.
10/10, delicious meal - steak was perfect with a chargrilled flavour. Pork tenderloin was the best my partner had ever had, very yum - staff all lovely and super friendly, highly recommend! No pictures of the starters as they were demolished too quickly… but definitely get the scotch egg and the salt and pepper squid!
Food is well presented and to a reasonably high standard. Rump steak was their best cut at the time we visited Menu is somewhat limited but I think they're trying to be a bit exclusive. Staff very polite and helpful.
A quintessentially, stunning British pub with such gorgeous friendly staff and an the best manager John. They make you feel so welcome and at home. The Sunday lunch is one of the best I have had and we have booked a table for Christmas Eve, can’t wait to be back there. A must visit if you are in the area.
I had a beautiful holiday in Somerset with one of my friend and we stayed for a night at the Lord Poulett Arms they had a good accomodation with an excellent service. The room was cozy and comfortable and I really like the vintage interior as well and we had a dinner and breakfast at the pub and the food was super delicious. Highly recommended
