Story

We shall be happy to repay the attention we have received (School Motto)

Was opened in September 1960 as "Longsands School", a Secondary Modern, under its original headmaster Harold K Whiting assisted by Deputy Head Mr Denny and Head Mistress Miss K C Flowerdew. The school's original four houses were: Rutherford (after Physicist Ernest Rutherford), Britten (after composer Benjamin Britten), Eliot (after poet Thomas Stearns Eliot) and Moore (after sculptor Henry Moore).
This later changed to six houses:
Hardy, Elgar, Darwin, Turner, Russell & Brunel.

Bullying does occur at this school, however the staff are very supportive and if you have mental health issues the school are outstanding and will do anything to help. The education itself is ok and the food provided at the canteen is good too. The better of the 2 secondary schools in town. However, the school is going downhill as the years go on and detentions are given out for little to no reason a lot of the time.
I went to longsands and left in 2008. The school has come a long way since then and is forever improving its facilities and learning methods and produce St Neots top grade when it comes to GCSE's compared to the other secondary school
Boutta do 6th form there School isn't best Their system is rigged tbh Some teachers were actually alright but most are leaving Food was and probably still will be terrible to eat Canteen was overpriced Looking at around 2 quid for a meal with a max spending allowance of 3.50 a day out of your account Drinks are between 80p and 1.20 so hardly anymoneybfor snacks which cost 60p upwards
This school has a broken curriculum and it is self proclaimed “institution of learning “ but they can’t even set a behaviour system that functions properly and works this is not acceptable
horrible school, don't let your kids study here, the bullying is terrible and so is the teaching, don't know how it passed it's Ofsted
The substitute teacher’s are so bad. Except from Jespi and Mr Gunn they are G’s
quite bad tbh, i got bullied and someone threw there private jiggly things at me
rubbish school. I'm always bored, history, art and ICT are ok but the rest are rubbish
Some improvements required but overall a nice school
This schools system is utter balls
