It’s great to have a railway station right on our doorstep . Clearly shows the staff care about the stations . There’s the odd litter in the corner in the shelter but it gets cleared up ! Them hanging baskets look beautiful in spring
A lot more could be done with this historic station with lovely old buildings and historic bridge over the road. Useful mainline station with frequent connections to Nottingham, Derby, London. Large car park right next to the station, disabled access lift or sloped pedestrian access to each platform. Staff are knowledgeable and helpful, station kept nice and clean with flower baskets and plants. Ticket machines are quite often out of order but there's a quaint ticket office where staff are quick and efficient.
My experience of Long Eaton Station wasn't to good until I went there. It is a good station for Trainspotting and, you will see, EMR Cross Country Freight & Northern one a day. Also only 10 Minutes down the track in Toton, is a huge fright Depot. Also the Toton Freight depot is also where the New HS2 Station will be. It will do Services to Birmingham & London. Sadly the line to Sheffield Via Chesterfield was Scrapped. . Anyway I would recommend Long Eaton for a day out Trainspotting. Also please Subscribe on Instagram & YouTube. Malachi.micah123
Arrived at station 22/07/22 15.08 asked advice from a large male staff, he did everything short of blanking me, verry rude, my opinion is if you dont like your job find another one
Really handy for Sawley, not Long Eaton, but the services provided by East Midlands Trains and Cross Country are great.
What a fantastic micro pub, find any excuse to visit the Sawley Junction, right outside Long Eaton station.
Trains were running on time but no waiting room or cafe
Really good station and nice trains
An attractive railway station on the Midland Main Line. HSTs pass through daily and steam trains pass through occasionally!
Traffic was minimal
