I had booked my cat into this service and had notified the lady on the phone that the cat was an indoor cat. On arrival, my cat had had a deposit in her box. I explained to the man that this had happened and he initially suggested his wife might be able to clean it and I said that would be great. I asked if she might be able to wash my cats "familiarisation" blanket too and he said he didn't know about that since she was not the only cat staying this weekend and that he thought I would take it away and wash it, I explained that I was staying at Crieff Hydro for the weekend and didn't want a pooey blanket left in the car. I got a plastic bag from my car to leave the blanket beside the box. He said let's empty the box outside, which he carried and tipped out before any real distance from the kennel. I had no means to pick the poo up, although appreciate I should have offered. Prior to leaving I asked if he could maybe put food out for the cat and he said "the wife will do that when she gets back shortly". The kennels were very dark and cold - and on leaving I felt it was an entirely inappropriate spot to leave my indoor cat so I returned shortly after. I rang the bell and the man presented, I said (I must stress very calmly), that I wanted to collect my cat. He said "fine" and then said, "you have come during my dinner!!" I said "I'm sorry about that" and he said "I can't believe you would just walk in on my dinner!!" I offered to go down and get the cat and drop the keys off to him and he exclaimed: "Like hell I'll do that! I have never met anyone so spoiled, the way you were asking my wife to wash your blanket and leaving that poo outside our kennel door. Don't you dare go into that cattery!" I waited calmly for him to get into his car and drive down to the cattery and i walked behind the car. I moved the poo away from the kennel door with a rock. He shouted "we've never had a complaint in 30 years!!" I said (still trying to remain calm) "Sir, if you would let me explain, I'm not complaining. My cat is an indoor cat and I don't feel this is appropriate environment for her", however he spoke over saying he didn't want to hear it. I got Binky out the horrible dark hutch that she was clawing at to get out and walked away, all along having abuse hurled at me from the man. If he had been more polite I would have offered to pay at least one night for the inconvenience, however I was appalled at the way I was treated and spoken to and do not recommend this service to anyone. If that's the way he treats humans, I hate to think how he treats animals. I went to Coupans Cattery afterwards, they had well lit pens, heat lamps, the accommodation is indoor and the lady is going to disinfect my box (after I asked if she had something I could use to wipe it) and wash my blanket. She said cats often present with sick or poo in their boxes and need washed and this was no problem. She could not have been kinder!
