What a view, we didn't have too long here, enough to have a walk around. Unfortunately they don't do boat trips around the Loch from here anymore, they are a 10 minute walk up the road, they have a sea life centre, no idea of price, they have a bird of prey centre on site, which is £9 adult to go in, and flying displays at various times. They have a small parade of shops on ground level, Frazers which had a reasonably priced cafe , they have a health food shop, & shoe & school uniform , & a couple of gift shops. We didn't go upstairs but there is a nail salon & a Jurassic Grill restaurant, the only blot on the landscape is a hotel/spa which has unfortunately closed down about 3 years ago it would make a lovely place to stay with wonderful views.
Great concept & location but its a shame that the retail units weren't occupied by local artisan producers, rather than run of the mill high street shops. Sealife Aquarium is located here so might be a good rainy day option for families. There are 2 eateries, one cafe and the other a restaurant/grill with some outdoor seating. Some water sports are available and of course lovely walks around the Loch if you venture further northwards.
A very beautiful place to visit. My family and I went canoeing. Theres a place you can hire kayaks, canoes, paddling boats etc. And it isn't very expensive. For the 5 of us we paid £30 for a canoe for half an hour The shores are very lively. They have a market nearby, there is free parking on site. The food from the food trucks was amazing.
Beautiful scenery here and it's what I would personally suggest going for rather than the shopping experience it's just shops that you can find anywhere, with some nice short trails ideal for a quick morning out walking.
It is beautifull, tranquil, at least at this time of year it is. I got there by train, and follow the path along the river. It takes you for a walk around, Balloch Castle & there's also a wall garden. At this time of year all is bare, but there is not many people. Coming down from the Castle, you can see the Loch & just wander along the shores. It's not crowded at the moment, I'm sure in the summer, it must be a lot more people there.
In a beautiful location. Ample parking, not that we needed it as we walked from our campsite. But the choice of shops and really, why do you need a retail centre in such a scenic location, was pitiful. If you happen to enjoy perusing some of Mike Ashley's establishments, this is probably a great place for you. If, like me, you aren't too bothered about buying cheap sportswear or propping up designer outlets that have been bought whilst on the bones of their arses, then avoid. There were other shops there, nothing particularly inspiring. A few fast food stalls made it a little more palatable, but not much. Take a look at the view of the Loch, and ask: Why on earth is this even here? I can't come up with any sane answer.
First time I've visited here , and of course 4 seasons in one day but I still loved it here . Thought the loch looked magnificent. Never guessed there would be a wee shopping mall here and I was more surprised by the prices , very very reasonable , well done
Well organised location with lots of attractions to spend a nice day out. Great views around the Loch with beautiful areas to enjoy a beach-type experience. The interesting Sea life centre aquarium, Cafes, shops and easy parking - make it one of the best places to visit in Scotland.
Loved it, friendly people, the cruise across the loch was very informative. The spectacular scenery makes for beautiful photographs
A nice little place to visit. Has a sealife centre, cafe, tourist shops. You can also do some paddle boarding, kayaking and walking etc. Has something for everyone.
