Really cute place - would recommend. Was taken back by the quality for price considering we were expecting to just be able to get a chippy. Get your space early to guarantee a chance to get the roast of your choice, dead jealous of the others we could see around us. Customer service was great, nice atmosphere. Thank you! Sincerely, 2 wet lost tourists dropping rain through your very nice restaurant!
We did a hike nearby and a bit of wandering as well. Stopped by here for a late lunch/early dinner and was hoping to see a Highland cow saw a reference to some in their garden on an old website. Unfortunately the cows have moved on but we had a delicious dinner. Prompt service, great local beer selection and some wonderful food.
Really disappointing service! During our meal, I asked one of the servers if we could bring in our own cake as a surprise for our friend's birthday, and have some side plates. She said that this was fine then brought us some plates. At the end of the meal, £30 had been added to our bill for "own cake". Now I wouldn't have minded paying a charge if I had been told about it from the outset , but our server mentioned nothing about a charge or how much that would be when I initially spoke to her. When I queried this with the team, they said that the server had only agreed to bring plates and knew nothing about a cake. This was a lie. We were told we had to pay, no negotiation. They did not care about our point of view, or the fact that their server had omitted information then been dishonest. Also, the manager sent his staff to communicate the decision rather than speaking to us themselves. Two stars remain as the food was actually lovely, but the staff and poor service let this place down.
Nice cosy pub with good food. Had Sunday roasts and they were great, all cooked well and a good serving. Kids meals were good too. Would recommend if you in Luss or nearby. Lovely village to have a wander round too once you’ve finished eating.
I went for lunch with my 5year old and 4month old. It couldn't have been better! They helped me in with the pram, gave me a table with lots of space and service was quick and helpful. Food was really tasty and they put my coffee in a takeaway cup when the baby decided it was time to go home. Honestly made our day, thank you!
Nice pub but beware of the parking options. You MUST enter your registration when you enter the pub otherwise you'll get a fine a for £100. The signage isn't obvious in this regard, and there's no mention of it from the staff when you enter. Shame because otherwise it's a nice location.Rooms: 4/5
Good food but a very awful service experience! Despite one of the staff members telling us that it would be okay to bring in our own cake, as we were celebrating a friends birthday. To our surprise we were charged a £30 fee for bringing our own cake, despite the staff member giving us the all clear, with no mention of any sort of charge. When we asked for an explanation for the £30 fee, we were utterly shocked to find out that the staff member who gave us the okay, had lied to her fellow colleagues and told them that we had only asked for plates, and never inquired about the cake. After some deliberation, we asked to speak to the manager. Instead of the manager coming out to speak to us, one of the staff members went to speak to them and told us the manager was busy on the phone - and we still had to pay the £30 charge. Because of this we asked them to remove the 10% gratuity charge, as we were not going to pay for such lies and poor customer service.
Lovely place to stay on our way home from the NC500 The meals were lovely except the lamb bhuna which was very bony. Breakfast was adequate - no fruit and plain yogurt. Served breakfast was OKRooms: 5/5
Best food, service, and ambience 30 miles either way. We particularly enjoyed the Sunday roast and cheese board. The open fireplace adds a nice cozy touch.
Staff were mint! Very kind and professional. The venison pie was outstanding in taste, but a ‘pie’ should always have a side and a bottom. It would soak up the amazing gravy and should be very easy with the trays they serve it in. The WiFi is such a chew it’s painful. I don’t know why there’s so many different accounts and needing to register etc. A staff member saying to other customers ‘don’t tell anyone I gave you the residents password’ was a joke. Just make it open to everyone! Who’s going stand in the car park just to use the WiFi?? Ales are great, furniture great and such a lovely place. Couple minor changes and this would be perfect!
