Used to come here as a child with my family ,used to love the old decor with fishing memorabilia ! I now take my kids here most weekends now! Garlic mussels are a must if you visit and a bag of welks to takeaway for a wonder round the markets!Food: 5/5
Absolutely disappointed in the whelks,been going here for years,went on holiday and as usual,came home looking forward to our whelks, hubby went and got myself and neighbours 4 bags of Skye whelks,they tasted "Horrible " tasted like been cooked in petrol,sadly that's the last we'll be buying Loch Fyne whelks!!!! -
Always good quality but the mussels are now badly lacking seasoning. Not sure about whelks as I don't like them. Please bring back the old decor it was much better, much more atmosphere. My dad is older and doesn't do contactless like a lot of older people. Cash would be better.
Got two large mussels and medium whelks cost over £10 the mussels were tiny they didn’t taste good and some of the shells weren’t open and a lot were all broken will never go back
First time I had been in on Sunday at 2.30pm, they weren’t doing sit ins which is fair enough. I was disappointed in the mussels although they where tasty, I had 12 empty shells in the bag and I understand your going to get empty ones but 12 in a large bag which isn’t very big anyway is disappointing. The lady was very nice but I think you should be checking what you’re putting into the bags to prevent this. I would like to try to sit in so hasn’t put me off but I wouldn’t buy a takeaway bag again because of these reasons. I would like to think if your sitting in them more attention to detail would be done.
Had mussels they were ok needed a bit more seasoning, whelks were overdone and had sand through them was so disappointed .Food: 3/5
