This is Llwyn-yr-eos farmhouse. It is a Grade 2 listed building which shows the importance of agriculture in Welsh history and culture. Most of the buildings in St. Fagans have been brought to the Museum from different parts of Wales. However, Llwyn-yr-eos was built on the site where it still stands.
This is a great farm house restored. There are many animals to see around the farm.
Translated by Google Llwyn-yr-eos was a tenanted farm on the Plymouth estate from at least the 18th century. The present farmhouse dates from the 19th century, but is displayed as a substantial farm of the 1930s, with gas lighting in the house and comfortable early 20th-century furniture. In the farmyard is a barn of about 1820, much altered in the 1890s, with an oil engine and machinery for preparing animal feed. Other outbuildings include a brewhouse, pigsties, goose shed, calf pens and a stable. The lean-to shed displays early tractors, along with the horse-drawn equipment still in use in the pre-war period. Next to the stable is a small cottage, where the farm laborer and his family lived. The farmstead was purchased from the Plymouth Estate in June 1981. Llwyn-yr-eos was a farm let to tenants on the Plymouth estate, from the 18th century onwards if not earlier. In the hut on the gable, there are early tractors and equipment to be drawn by horses which were still in use before the war. Codwyd y ffermdy presennol yn y bedwaredd ganrif ar bymtheg ond mae'n ymddangos yn awr fel fferm sylweddol o'r 1930au, gyda goleuadau nwy yn y tŷ a dodrefn cyfforddus o ddechrau'r 20fed ganrif. Ar y buarth, mae ysgubor a godwyd tua 1820, gyda newidiadau mawr yn y 1890au. Mae yma injan olew a pheiriannau i baratoi bwyd i'r anifeiliaid. Ymhlith yr adeiladau eraill mae bragdy, tylciau moch, cwt gwyddau, cytiau lloi a stabl. Yn y cwt ar y talcen, ceir tractorau cynnar ac offer i'w tynnu gan geffylau oedd yn dal i gael eu defnyddio cyn y rhyfel. Ger y stabl, mae bwthyn bychan lle'r oedd y gwas a'i deulu'n byw. Prynwyd y fferm oddi wrth Ystâd Plymouth ym mis Mehefin 1981.
