Easy to access of the a470 not massive amount of parking but no issues for us plenty of shade benches and picnic spots didn't see any bins minimum litter around the reservoir We came here specifically to see the bridge as the water had receded significantly the walk to the bridge took around 15 mins from carpark but could take longer its a great walk and you could easy spend a couple of hours here would would to come back once it's filled up and get the other perspective
Great looking reservoir. It has a dam approx 100m long with a castlinated turret lake control house and a large spillway to the side. it is possible to walk around it when the water is low, though with caution as the reddish mud on the north part is slippery and has small streams running through it. There were herons fishing alongside the anglers, occasionally swooping low over the still waters.
What a beautiful spot. On the way to the mountains. Lovely fishing spot - permits required. The peace and tranquility is sadly ruined by idiots playing load music on the edge of the reservoir. Otherwise - the scenery is perfect. Well described signs and local information boards. Parking nearby. Well worth a visit.
Despite being a wet day we had a lovely walk around the reservoir. Much of the walk is along the road so this is something to be mindful of with young children but there are plenty of picnic stops and you can walk much of the perimeter along the fishing routes which are beautiful woodland. This is a gentle walk, almost entirely flat. Just take your wellies if it's been rainy and you want to explore off the road. Make sure you take your camera too, views are simply stunning.
A beautiful walk around the edge of this reservoir. The day we went was stunning, almost surreal and very dreamlike. The water was silent and still and the ground was damp and glistening. Highly recommended if you live nearby, and even if you live further afield come and visit. Just next door to the visitors centre for a snack and drink once finished!
Its a reservoir, a man made lake, but with low water at the moment.
A beautiful space to take in some tranquility and beautiful views...Part of the Brecon Beacons. You won't be disappointed with the views or nature...picnic benches available to stop for lunch take your own. Breathe the clean air, notice the calm and just enjoy!
A stunning place to unwind, anglers quietly go about their business in a setting that is bustling with the sounds of nature. Laybys are dotted around for parking one has a burger bar with hot and cold snacks with a picnic area.
One of three lakes that feed Cardiff. Built after the cholera epidemics of 1849 in Cardiff to provide more water for better sanitation in the suburbs of Cardiff. Finished after the first world war. It's actually a really lovely place with some walks and trails on the far side. Well worth a visit.
Dry as a chip at present a rain dance is in order
