So, our story begins one rainy afternoon in little old Emsworth, sadly my usual pharmacy had been unable to fulfil an item on a repeat prescription, so printed out a bar code to take to any pharmacy to get this fulfilled. Squirreling along and into the LloydsPharmacy in Emsworth, got two of the three items on the list, great. Sadly, one of the other items Zapain pain killers were not in stock so I said I would be back the next day to pick them up. Day 2. Next day arrives and confident that my tablets will be ready, I merry on down to the village to pick up the remaining tablets. Being met by what can only be described as the most disgruntled employee I’ve ever met, annoyingly told they still have no stock and to come back tomorrow. Day 3. Waking up with upmost enthusiasm as SURLEY it wouldn’t take three days to get painkillers, I waited to late afternoon to plod down and visit my now favourite LloydsPharmacy. Well, very surprisingly I was told yet again, they had no stock of that particular brand of pain killer. I enquired as to when stock may arrive, I was told something about being unsure and generally just fobbed off. Day 4. As this was a Saturday, I decided that a delivery of pain killers may prove to much to handle for the team at my jolly LloydsPharmacy so decided to skip todays attempt at getting the medication. Day 5. I had decided that today, yes, today MUST be the day. I was amped up and ready to roll, so after work I skipped down to my local LloydsPharmacy who could do me no wrong. Pleasantly greeted by a new face who was actually pleasant, although now concerned for the other happy lady and pondered which ditch she had been buried in by her local team, I explained the situation. Still no stock. The biggest pharmacist I have ever laid eyes on came over to explain that it was a matter of supply from the manufacturer and could help no further due to the prescription being specific to that Zapain brand name. I was advised to speak to the GP and get the script amended to a non-brand name. Eager to get the situation resolved I hobbled over to my GP and explained my dire situation to the receptionist who promptly spoke to the GP and updated the script. Good job GP! I bounced back across to my friendly neighbourhood LloydsPharmacy where I was now 100% convinced they would be able help me. Sadly, after a little wait was told no, they can’t help today. Day 6. I decided to pop into my regular pharmacy to see if they could help, since the script had been changed it was released back into the system and now was up for grabs by competent pharmacist. I explained my recent trauma over trying to get this medication and was told there was indeed NO supply problems of this drug. I was served, package in hand and out the door in les then 15 minutes. So, I can only assume by the reception received and the issues obtaining basic medication that this LloydsPharmacy is overworked and presumably underpaid. I feel it fair as a concerned citizen to remove some of their workload by never again popping in to see my favourite people.
Closed this morning with no warning or notice on the door and no signs of life in the store. There was a long queue waiting for the pharmacy to open too. No answer on the phone just a message saying staff were busy helping customers - they absolutely were not!!
My advice is if you have regualr perscriptions that you need on time don't use this pharmacy . Stay very clear of it Been using it for a year now for my repeats and I work full time I drive here in the morning during advertised opening hours its shut . In the afternoon if I get a lunch break it's shut when I drive there after work at 4pm it's shut and this is every time nearly On average it takes me 4 to 6 attempts to even be able to join the short queue inside that still takes a good 20-30 minutes to get to the front and often to be told my prescription isn't ready and come back even though its been a weeks worth of attempts to get in there. If your short staffed make sure the person on the till doesn't talk for ages to each customer . I'd be amazed if anyone actually went in there to buy stuff as takes so long . Just been along now to see if they have my tablets as I will run out tomorrow but again shut. Gonna transfer to tesco pharmacy this will not only get me my prescription on time but also slow global warming by removing all the wasted car journeys
Walked down on Saturday with my partner to collect his prescription. Shut! Just a notice on the door. How are working people meant to collect medicine if they shut at the weekend with no notice. Tried phoning today but no one answering the phone. Just dreadful service. Update, my partner went after finishing work at 5 to collect a much needed prescription. Closed. He went to the Old Pharmacy in the High Street. They were about to close but stayed open for him and couldn't be more helpful. Managed to retrieve and issue his prescription. Have both now swapped to use them in future. Lloyds are a complete joke.
Booked a blood pressure test online for 9:30 am. Arranged to go into work late, paid for parking etc. I completely understand that with staff sickness sometimes appointments need to be cancelled. My problem was with the staff. I spoke to a female counter assistant and just had the most unpleasant encounter. I explained that I was there for blood pressure appointment. And it was a case of 'here? You booked here? Did you do it online? We don't do them? Our staff are sick? Are you sure it's not Westbourne? Why do you think the appointment is here? We can't do it we have staff sick?' Rather than assisting a customer it was more like an example on how to gaslight or make someone feel uncomfortable. Unprofessional and why not just admit the mistake and apologise properly? I checked the site. I did have an appointment. And I phoned Lloyd's customer care line. I had an appointment at Lloyd's, it was not cancelled and according to them they should have done the test. Basically - they were busy and didn't want to do it. So, don't book time of for this pharmacy. In future a little bit of honesty, 'I know you booked an appointment but unfortunately we are unable to help you today. Sorry for your inconvenience.'
Dreadful service avoid!! Their opening hours are farcical, certain member of staff is plain rude and uncaring. Lloyds direct is a joke with the branch just turning you away even when you have two days worth of medication for a life threatening illness!! My wife and I were on the verge of an A&E visit to obtain medication. Luckily the fantastic staff at the Emsworth surgery helped us out. We have now moved to the Westbourne Pharmacy and will not go in to buy anything from Lloyds again!
Nothing against the pharmacist’s here or staff. However, at the moment it is a one in, one out for the pharmacy and when one person goes in they are locking the door behind them. Seems a bit extreme. This is leaving people waiting outside in the scorching heat with no shade and will cause serious problems for the elderly who are outside waiting for prescriptions. Something needs to be done about the staff shortages. Such a shame.
On 3 occasions in two weeks I’ve been to this pharmacy during their advertised opening hours to collect much needed prescriptions and found they are closed ! It’s not good enough when people rely on medication and they just close when they feel like it . I will be sending my prescription to elsewhere from now on .
Not as positive an experience as it should have been. On both occasions I was told my prescription would be ready in 15 minutes and it took 30 minutes and 25 minutes. The 1st time I was forgotten completely with other customers arriving after me and being served much quicker. I have learned not to leave the shop so they don't forget you but the service is still slow. Friendly enough but just not very efficient. UPDATE 17th October 2022 This Pharmacy has deteriorated beyond bad and has now reached dreadful in its customer service, efficiency and performance. Not sure if this is a Franchise or directly operated by Lloyds Pharmacy Ltd but either way head office need to step in and give our village a decent service.
Staff rude and unprofessional. When I arrived, another customer was having some issues with her prescription. She left unhappy and empty-handed, then I heard staff talking loudly and negatively about the customer. Everyone looked unconformable and there was an atmosphere. When I finally got served the staff member was abrupt and short with me. Told me i was going to have to wait at least 30 mins. I said I would have to come back. Her response again was quite abrupt, so I felt prompted to point out that I didn't want to risk a £70 parking ticket. I was given a receipt for my purchase and I asked if I needed to show this on my return - 'yes' was the response. When you've just been to the Dr's and there is something obviously wrong enough to warrant medication - you do not expect this kind of experience, from a chemist. Let down.
