I agree with the gentlemen's comments about click and collect. It's the first time I've used the service I usually have delivery and I failed to see the check-in facility on the email. I bought some grocery items in the store, for which I needed to pay at the booth it included tobacco, and then waited at the 'customer service' point for someone to come and give me some customer service. A fellow customer, also waiting, told me I had to check in on the screen, but the screen said 'till closed'. The lady that served me at the booth, and was supervising the self-service tills, then came over and showed us both what to do on our phones. I waited a few minutes when a different lady came out with a box and said simply, 'name?'. I didn't quite hear her, and asked her to repeat, and again she simply said 'name'. No please, no thank you; I walked out of the store feeling like I had somehow inconvenienced your staff today. This is not the first time I have felt like this in the Knutsford store, and service levels have consistently deteriorated over the last 12 months. I won't be shopping there again, and I shall revert to delivery for my John Lewis orders.
Sent by my wife to pick up her John Lewis order. Chastised by the lady behind the counter for not having read the emails to say I have to click on the link rather than enter on the screen as per previously. Don't understand why staff have to be so rude instead of just helping. Ruins your day. Rest of the staff normally nice to be fair.

I go to Waitrose early in the morning when staff are busy loading shelves with freshly delivered goods.. They greet me with a smile and then 'hello how are you today'.nAt the till there is just enough chit chat, and would you like a coffee ?. It's such a nice genuine atmosphere it makes shopping a pleasure. OK. Some things are a little more expensive but there are also bargains to be had if you have the time to look.nAnyway, a nice smile in a morning is well worth a shilling, be it plus, or minus even.
