The staff here are very friendly and helpful. Have visited for a traditional British fry up on many occasions. It will be sad to see this British institution come to an end soon, and especially so for this location which has been such a pleasant place to eat at
Love the place and the staff. Pity its closing down to become a Star*ucks. I dont want coffee and packaged sandwiches i want food freshly cooked to order. So much for progress. Anyone travelling to or from the west coast will have to look for a proper food place to eat.
This is a review of the burger king attached to little chef. Popped in for coffee and bought some fries too. The fries were 1.79 and the portion was tiny. Stick with McDonald's, coffee is better and alot better portion sizes.

My experience at Little Chef York A64 was a classic example of dreadful service. On arrival I waited for several minutes near the sign "Please wait to be seated" but nobody attended to me. Only 3 or 4 tables were occupied so clearly there would not be a problem finding a seat for me so I took a seat. I waited for 10 minutes during which time I was completely ignored by the 4 staff despite one of them wiping down the table next to me and another who looked at me but continued to serve another customer who came in after me. I walked out and went to the Burger King which seems to be part of the same establishment - at least they swerved me quickly. I spoke to the manager of Little Chef before I left and suggested in a friendly way that he should train his staff in the art of hospitality. I explained what had happened but he really did not want to know and simply made lame excuses before walking off off before I had finished making my point. THIE PERSON WHO SHOULD TAKE NOTE OF THIS REVIEW IS THE OWNER BECAUSE HIS MANAGER IS PUTTING THE FUTURE OF HIS BUSINESS IN JEOPARDY.
Overall i am happy with the food and some of the service, however there advertisment is MISLEADING due to a sign being outside and inside the doorway saying beacon sandwich and tea/coffee £2.99 - when we asked for the order; the waitress never said anything about it not being £2.99 each. therefore we still ordered them as nothing was said about the price difference. After we had finished we went to pay to find out two small beacon sandwiches and two coffees cost £12.80! i personally think it is discusting to charge an extra £6.80 to sit in, and have a beacon sandwich!
The vegetarian 'early starter' full english breakfast is always delicious, hot and well cooked, not greasy. The staff are friendly and efficient.
Quick stop for great latte & really tasty breakfast wrap. Warm welcome from friendly staff with good customer service.
Lovely service lovely food. Best place to get food if you're driving nearby
Sadly one of the few remaining little chef eatery's. But well worth a visit for the nostalgic. The hungry or both
