Friendly staff and all the usual Little Chef classics. Didn't have any steaks available for a Royal Breakfast but the Olympic was very nice. Ladies toilets are in need of bit of refurbishment, paint peeling and some broken bits and pieces. But they were clean. Overall a nice place to stop before hitting the road.
Food was nice, nothing to complain about with it. The decor hasn't been touched since the 90's! The toilets were filthy and dusty with missing or broken tiles on the walls and floors. There was a screw poking through one of the partition walls in the ladies, perfect for ripping clothing or poking someone's eye out! The floor in the toilet was sticky and filthy. There was no soap but there was a smal bit of hand gel in a dirty bottle. The carpet in the resrurant looked like it hadn't been hoovered for over a week and with all its stains it certainly hasn't been cleaned in a while! Most of the staff were lovely and I have no complaints with them. I would,however, sugest that instead of leaning on the counter looking board, the young blond lady could be spending her time with a bottle of bleach in the toilets. Again,there was nothing wrong with the food at all, I just hope the standards of cleanliness are much different in the kitchen compared to the rest of the place.
Lovely diner, as always. Great food and great service - love their coffee too. Pancakes are to die for and you just GOTTA try the Chilli Dog or Godfather Burger. The new menu is brilliant. Hand on heart, I cannot complain about Little Chef. It's nothing like it once was a few years ago. Love it and I'll go again and again!. No, I don't work for Little Chef LOL
Food good. Service good. Staff pleasant. Toilets awful. There were 3 toilets in the ladies. One was out of order. One was blocked and the 3rd had no seat, no toilet paper and a taped up hole in the cubicle wall. Needed sweeping. This was Saturday 9th September, 11 ish.
i had the breakfast, it was just how i like it, dry firm mushrooms, well done bacon. It is a little chef so dont expect gourmet wonder but it was clean and it was fast and my food was spot on.
The staff were great, the breakfast was good and quick but, unfortunately on my visit, it was -3° outside and not much warmer inside. There were heaters over the windows not working, the air con units weren't working either so I think there was one heater trying to warm the entire premises. There's also a major draught coming in the a missing cover in the kitchen roof. I suspect that the temperature was below the minimum for your employees to be working in and it certainly turned a 5 star review based on your staff's service into a 1 star. Head office has really let the team down badly by not having equipment working and may even be breaking Health & Safety laws. Maybe head office could show the same level of diligence to the staff working here that they showed to me and the other customers. #anotherorganisationletdownbypisspoormanagememt #wheresundercoverbosswhenyouneedit
Closed when it should have been open - short staffed apparently. Also quite dirty outside with a bin festering and overflowing. Not enticing at all. I went up the road to Starbucks at cockermouth instead.
Decent fry up after a failed rainy camp trip. The decor is straight up 70's juxtaposed against a co-leasing Burger King. If Banksy designed eating establishments...
Tatty dump, needs money spending on it. Burger king is ok but the little chef get antsy about people using their toilets. The carpet in the little chef was heaving.
Such a shame that these little chefs are being neglected and are in my opinion ALL dated and tired looking inside.On the upside the food was fantastically good and the ladies serving were pleasant and service prompt.I would be back in a heartbeat if it were closer to my home.Loved the food.10/10
