My husband and I have been renting this flat for almost twelve years. Since Link took over the council association, things are turning from bad to worse. We reported a washer-dryer that blew the fuses up four days ago and they told us that we would get a call from repairs according to their website C-urb is in charge of repairs. Still waiting for the outsourced company to call and set a date for repairs. The last time we reported an issue needed to be fixed in the cul de sac, it took them about three months, and they did half the job. Mind you, they are amazingly efficient to take your rent! From this post I expect an automatic response to contact so and so. Regardless, C-urb is a maintenance company that does not provide services in form and time, and they are Links choice.
Absolutely disgraceful service lift has been broken for 5days despite repeated calls from residents nothing has happened one neighbour has emphysema can't walk up the stairs without me helping other resident has broken foot has to hop up and down stairs probably no point in leaving this review AS THEY DONT CARE ABOUT REPAIRS BUT INCREASE RENT EVERY YEAR they have too many properties now but not enough staff BLOODY MONEY GRABBERS
I have been with Link since 2016. Always been a good Tennant. Never make any noise and have done so much work to the house. It's like night and day from when we got it. However in the last year things started going wrong with the house, lots of repairs needed done. I was made to wait months on each and every single repair. Ended up having to discuss the issues with the trade supervisor himself. The workmen are mostly nice but one of them dropped a bath screen into my wall and took out a massive hole next to my bathroom door and damaged my new bathroom flooring in the process. Another one smacked his head off my light, which was brand new at the time and shattered it all over the floor. The rent goes up so much every year. We now pay over £500 a month just to be made to wait months on end for repairs to be carried out when we report them. Currently I've been waiting months on a new drawer in the kitchen. My other issue with link recently is that when my other half lost his job, we missed a couple of rent payments. I contacted the housing officer and set up a payment plan which I was sticking to. Always been very forthcoming and honest with the whole team at link regarding our situation. I asked for an allpay card which I waited months on, only to find that when it arrived I couldn't even use it. Last month our rent was missed which was a total oversight and not at all intentional. Instead of the housing officer contacting me by phone, email or chapping the door for a chat, she took it upon herself to send out a letter telling us she was taking us to court and that I was to contact my local homeless service, knowing full well she hadn't even asked what the issue was and knowing full well that we have an innocent 10 year old child in this house. She threatened to put my 10 year old daughter out on the street. Today I called up and paid 2 entire months worth of rent plus some arrears as promised and have kept every single email and phone call as evidence should I need it because the only way link are removing me from this house is in a body bag. I've never felt more angry towards an association in my life. Had they bothered to contact me, I'd have sorted it. Instead they thought no screw them, let's just evict this family instead. Absolute bunch of heartless jobsworths. Would not recommend anyone to get a house with link housing association.
Housing officer never listens, never helps with any issues and her line manager who I complained to was condescending and spoke to me like I was an idiot. Requested a new housing officer as my current one is not very interested and was told no! This is after they sent my email of complaint to my actual housing officer! What chance do tenants have if this is how they behave?
I have grave concerns about Link Housing and their factoring managed by Curb. They have a property in Glasgow that is not being managed properly. The factors are getting away with charging for works not being carried out like regular cleaning. It's proved impossible to speak to anyone at Curb or Link Factoring. Staff that have responded to emails do not respond adequately and do not appear to have any knowledge of the factoring system.
I have been with Link/Curb now for over a year and it’s been nothing shocking! My house had asbestos through out the whole property which was brought to there attention when we first moved in. In October 2022 we had a bad leak from our roof in our spare room. We reported it and Link/Curb sent out someone to have a look. Their tradesman refused to fix or take ceiling down because he said there was asbestos in the ceiling. The house was tested and turned out every room had asbestos in it! It took till March for them to do anything in the house and left me and my partner in that house from October 2022 to March 2023 with the damaged walls and ceilings where the asbestos was. I’ve been passed pillar to post from my housing officer Pamela, some guy called Kieran and now a managing director called David Mackenzie who has just fell of the face of the earth after promising to phone me back days ago. We have been decanted from our house now. Curb/Link used Saltire roofing and building from Edinburgh who came in and destroyed my flooring. They also tried to do the plasterboard on the ceiling of my living room which was made up of loads and loads of off cuts from previous jobs! I can never get a straight answer from any of the management or housing officer! My house is still a shell with no end sight
If I could give a NO STAR i would!!! Since they took over from welso they are no better they are worse .. sent a email as I thought it would be quicker as I was number 28 in the que.. how wrong was I email sent got reply back 5 days later.. and I’m still waiting on the repairs to be done one month later and still not done. But you’re expected to pay your rent but the services are not getting done. Your mean to be looking after your residents and it’s your responsibility to make sure the repairs are done..
Contacted customer care on Friday regarding repair work to be carried out on Monday the 14th November at my tenancy as a consequence of the poor quality of service and standards used by Curb employees in my tenancy to do rewiring and joinery between the 5th of August and the 23rd of August 2022. After a call from Mark Higgins an electrician based at Bathgate in which he said he had no plan of action on how the work will be done including the new rewiring and no proper estimate of how long the work will take and that he was bringing two unidentified people with him to do the work instead of the originally agreed one I sent an email to link housing customer care cancelling the scheduled appointment for another date. In the meantime this will give Emma Kilpatrick housing officer for my area the opportunity to properly communicate with Mark Higgins and explain the further issues at my tenancy and come up with a proper plan of action to rectify the twenty issues caused by curb with a proper estimate of how long the work will take, the identity of the people doing the work and their role. I have also requested that under no circumstances will I allow any more than two employees in my tenancy at any given time for security reasons something Mark Higgins has a problem with. It is over two months now since curb and Mitar were responsible for destroying my tenancy with poor quality and standards including damage to my washing machine and the theft of personal property and I am still waiting for the work to begin. If this is what you call customer service then think again.
Myself and others in my block have had to put up with antisocial behaviour from a tenant who has no regard for us he is an addict plays loud music we can't say anything to him because we get abuse and threats . We have been promised that our housing officer is dealing with it but so far nothing . I work I pay my rent I respect my environment he does not we have had enough link do nothing .
Link will make you sign a tenancy agreement outlining all the rules you're supposed to follow but won't enforce them when dealing with anti social tenants. They constantly pass the buck to Police Scotland and expect you to waste their time instead of Link actually dealing with their own tenants. Link will be very quick to deal with issues until you've lived there for over a month then they'll stop caring. You'll constantly have to chase them up to get repairs done and can be waiting anywhere from a couple of weeks to a couple of months to get something fixed....then it won't even get fixed right the first or second time. They'll be very good at chasing you about important maintaince checks that need carried out on the property i.e boiler maintenance or electrical checks then send people who don't actually do all the checks required. Be careful if you're like myself and have very limited housing options as you may be stuck dealing with this lot for years to come. *and before anyone from Link comments on this review apologising and saying for me to contact them I have...multiple times over the years.
